Can someone give me a little insight into MU's management of tix for Big East Tournament?

I used to get an email from MU every year in advance but I haven't' seen anything in the last two seasons. Is my money not good enough? Are the seats any good or typical upper level seats?

Gracias

Hmm .. they are still sending emails .. I think I got two of them this season.  I may have deleted one, but here's one from Jan 5:

2015 BIG EAST Tournament Ticket Information
March 11-14 | Madison Square Garden | New York, N.Y.

The 2015 Men's Basketball BIG EAST Championship will once again be held at Madison Square Garden. The tournament is scheduled for March 11-14 in New York City.

This special advance ticket offer is your only opportunity to purchase tickets  and is being made available to Marquette donors and season ticket holders. Tickets for this year's tournament range from $125 to $450 for full tournament packages, with a handling fee of $10 per order.

Due to limited supply, tickets will be allocated based on annual giving and Marquette priority points. Selecting a specific price-level during this on-sale does not guarantee your seats will be located in that area.  If we are unable to allocate your tickets in the price level selected, you will be provided the next best available location (seating is prioritized based on annual giving and priority points).

Please note: all orders must be received by the Marquette Ticket Office by  Friday, January 30th.

Thank you very much for your continued support of Marquette Basketball.

I got the same one as mu_hilltopper on January 5, and he was right about a second (identical) one - it was sent  on January 26.

Thank you, all. Any idea how I figure out how many MU Priority point I have? Is there a contact at MU?

I donate every year but live out east so I'm not season ticket holder

Thanks Again

If you're not a season ticket holder, they might not have you in their system for points.  However, tickets through MU might be pretty easy to come by this year.  You should just call the ticket office and ask.  (414) 288-GOMU

Ok. Thanks. I made the call. They do keep a point system even for those who don't have season tickets. And it sounds like there are bonus points when donations are made in consecutive years. They're going to call me back to explain. I'll post what they tell me. Not that I donate a lot to my mind, but I'd be curious where my donations stand relative to average Alum.

I was a bigger donor back in the day and had the B&G Fund seats for 4 years, so I had a decent number of points. I've been to a couple BE tourneys and bought my first tickets through MU and had decent tickets (about 2/3s up, but right in middle). Problem is, you pay $450 and have tickets for every game. I thought we would be able to sell our championship tickets after we lost and basically got $25. The next time I went, I got tickets outside MSG for the Marquette/Louisville game about 30 minutes before the game for $20 and we were 15 rows from court on baseline. We were right down the row from Peyton Siva's dad. And that was when we had all of the high profile BE teams (ND, Pitt, Ville, UConn, Cuse) still in it. The people in NY don't really care about any teams left in the Big East other than Nova, St. John's and Georgetown (Hall, Providence maybe slightly more than pure apathy), so I would imagine you would be able to get real decent tickets outside no matter the matchup.
