That's a damn shame, Chicos.  Could've treated you to some Real Chili afterwards.

I would have humbly accepted it.  Took my son to a Packers game a few years ago when he was probably 12...we went up to Michael's for breakfast, but didn't do Real Chili.  My wife makes it here at home at times, but the real mccoy is missed.

The Athletic Department posted some pictures on Facebook of various National Marquette Day parties around the country. The one from San Diego showed a chalkboard of the special menu the restaurant put together.  It included "Marquette Chili" for $10.99.

Eleven dollars -- for fake Real Chili.  LOL California.
Have some patience, FFS.

That is funny.  I missed it this year....my son and I were on the road driving to the Kings Sharks outdoor game at Levi's Stadium that day.  I was tempted to have him pull off the road and find a bar in Pismo or something to catch the day.

No promotions at all this year (bobble heads, trading cards, media guide, pizza coupons) but we did get a plastic cup!
What a joke for what we pay! Saw Providence fans got bob rheas!

Tofu and quinoa are expensive.

Wife made some real chili on Sunday night...it was frigid out here at 62 degrees and the chance of rain.  She does a little California flair and adds slices of avocado on top of the noodles, chili, cheese and sour cream.  A nice touch.

Are the noodles made outta black beans or zucchini?

They've been doing it after the game for at least 25 years if not longer.

The answer is simple, they wanted to make it special and not totally scripted.  Also, they know how many "fans" don't get in their seats in time anyway so moving it before the game when so many people are still milling around, having their duds and cabernet is equally problematic.  The other reason is timing. When you have it before the game, it is tightly scripted because of TV, so you are limited in your options.

I had one coach tell me at the time they also wanted to avoid the over amping of the athlete.  In other schools he was at the kids would do the pregrame ceremony, became way too emotional, to hyped up and were a basket case for the first half of the game.

If I read the gamer e-mail correctly today, looks like it's been moved to pre-game on Saturday.
GO WARRIORS!
