Hi Everyone,

I wanted to say thanks again to everyone that has been in contact with me, either publicly or privately, it's been very overwhelming to say the least. Quite honestly, we would not be staying afloat right now without the help of this board. I know it's been a rough year on the court, but the help you guys have provided to my family...amazing. I wish I could high five/awkward guy hug each one of you.

My son is doing well, no active signs of cancer, which is great. Pretty anxious weeks ahead though, as a week from today, he'll have a stem cell transplant, with his twin sister being his donor. A few of you reached out back in November offering to be donors...awesome, I strongly encourage anyone that's ever thought of being a donor to sign up at Be The Match.

If you don't know what a stem cell transplant is, it's basically like an organ transplant...except a new immune system is being transplanted into my son's body. There's a million different ways this can go, so he will be in the hospital a minimum of a month, and it could end up being many months.

We're staying very positive, his energy and spirit give us the peace of mind to stay this way.

If you have the ability to share his Go Fund Me page (http://www.gofundme.com/gzrcnc) on Facebook/Twitter, I sincerely thank you. Prayers/thoughts just as important though too.

Go MU!

Great news, here's hoping that things continue to break your son's way.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Goose

Great news and we will keep on praying!

One of my best friends and the guy I sit next to at MU games, was a stem cell donor to his brother 5 years ago.  I recalled this, this past weekend as his brother announced that 5 years ago he received his stem cell transplant and he was now cancer free.  Great news to hear.

ChicosBailBonds

All the best...thinking of you all

StillAWarrior

Continuing my prayers.  We're all with you and thinking of you.

Ideal situation - Charlotte's gonna get 'er done! Hang in there, little man.

mileskishnish72

Well, not completely ideal - it comes to me in my early morning fog that they are most likely not identical twins - duh. God bless you all.

My wife had stem cell transplant in 2011 for acute lymphocytic leukemia with a Philadelphia chromosome.  Her donor was a young man from Great Britain. She is doing very well.   I'm sure your son will too.  We'll be praying for him.  I second your admonition that all under age 60 sign up to be a donor.  Also, donate platelets and your local cancer center.   Cancer patients and the facilities are always in need of platelets.   It's about a two hour process that is life saving.
