Can anyone let me know why the men play only 3 home games and 12 games on the road?

Will this even out down the road?

🏀

Do they really have 50 players?

Sidenote - there are some horrible parents out there looking at these names.

It will even out once the new fieldhouse is built, and they can play indoors.

Any reason why they play at Hart Park and not on the soccer field down at Valley Fields?

marqfan22

good question? why not at Valley Fields?

Don't understand a roster of 50 either. High schools teams have low 20's and that seems enough. Anyone know why so many?

reinko

Way to recruit affluent kids that are given a nominal lacrosse scholarship, that ordinarily would not enroll @ MU?

Hart Park seats more. MU playing some powerhouses that sell out.

So, we're like a buy game for other schools?  Given the roster size we'll probably play teams in exchange for a few sticks.

Have you seen MU's records in almost all sports this year? Thanks, Uncle Lar.  Scholl has us on the rebound. $$$

Because no one wants to play lacrosse outdoors in Milwaukee in February.  Two of the home games this year are the two home games mandated by the Big East schedule.  The third is Duke, because Amplo is friends with John Danowski.  This is why the fieldhouse is incredibly important.

I presume they can't play on the soccer pitch because it needs the spring to recover from being torn up by two teams playing on it in the fall.

They can't play on the football field on the other end because they are averaging just short of 1,300 a game in seven home games thus far.  Duke (two time defending national champion) & Denver (preseason #1 in the country) on Saturdays in April will draw massive crowds to Hart Park.

Men's lacrosse is anything but a buy game for anyone after beating #16 Lehigh on Saturday.  They play #19 Hofstra this coming Saturday.

Yes.  22 of them played against Lehigh.  It's a lot like hockey in terms of substitution patterns.

I might add, of the 50 only one is a senior (RS).  Amplo is really getting it done.

source?

I haven't looked outside the Big East, but the roster size is pretty standard for teams in our conference. I believe Georgetown has 48, for example.

And they're sharing 12.6 scholarships as well.

MU's final two home games are on national tv.

Hopefully lacrosse doesn't continue the basketball trend with embarrassing losses on national television.

Do not start

Hopefully they don't wear the valour blue lacrosse uniforms on national TV...then they'll be doomed for sure.

You laugh, but that's the only color Marquette hasn't worn yet at all...
