...at around 9:30 left in the first half, Matthews feeds the ball into Barro in the low post. That, in itself was enough to make me excited since we never feed the post. However, what makes it great is that Barro backs dowm, senses the double team and makes the open pass for the three. Fantastic.

There were a couple nice feeds down low, but none as traditionally sound as that feed. Why we don't feed the post more often, if even just to get some touches for the big fellas, is beyond me.

Anyway, great first half. Hope the intensity stays up for the second...

I loved the McNeal pass to Acker over his shoulder from near the sideline - awesome!

He's never going to be confused for Bill Walton... but Ooz's passing might be the most improved part of his game (passing is also strongly tied to basketball IQ).

He's had some very nice assists so far this year.

Here's what you would want from a center:
Shoot a high percentage from the floor and a decent percentage from the line
Box out and rebound on both ends of the floor
Play good man to man and help defense
Make the extra pass out of the double team

I think Ooz did all of that and more tonight... AND I don't think his game is pretty... but I think he is certainly above average. The key (for the team) is when Ooz isn't in the game... how well can MU play against other bigs.

I second this one.  That's a backbreaker kind of a play if you're OK State.  For a second I thought Acker may oop it to McNeal.  I'm glad he didn't.

had many favorite plays of the game, however I think one of mine would be McNeals beautiful pass after getting an offensive rebound for an easy 2.  In fact, the passing down low was amazing tonight, looking for the better shot, something MU struggles with, tonight was a different case.

pure genius stuff by Bill Simmons, remember to read day 2

How about Matthews' crossover and pull up in the lane?  I've seen that pull up before (and I want to see it more) but that crossover made me first think it was McNeal.
