When MU made their run it was LOUD easilly pro MU.

I bought 10 tickets and made sure there were 10 Warrior fans in those seats .. but my expectations were that UW fans would make up 30-50% today .. that wasn't close.  15-20% is about right.  They were pretty damn loud, though.

It was odd how many empty seats there were for a "sold out" game, rows here and there in the upper bowl, chunks here and there in the lower ..

I was surprised to have 7 empty seats in my row plus the row below me, row H in decent seats in the lower bowl.   I mean, if you have season tickets, this is the game you bought them for.

Those were Badger fans that ate the tickets to go to Indy to watch the B1G Championship :)

I got sick so I put my seats for sale on this board, asking more than $25 less than any lowers I saw on StubHub...with the hope that an MU fan would buy them.

When nobody here bought them, I had no choice but to eat the loss, or send them off to StubHub.  Maybe a Rodent fan ended up buying them...but that's's only because no MU fan on this board seemed to want them.

Don't blame the sellers...blame the (lack of) MU buyers.

Agreed.  I bought some extras for today too and couldn't find any MU fans to go.

Tums Festival

Look like duanewade is 0/2 in the thread-starting department today.

I'd say it was about 75-25 in 401 yesterday.

We need to come up with a better system to get the lower bowl tickets from MU fans to MU fans IMHO. I had to wait until Thursday to buy because of a situation with my dad, knocking us down to 3 from 4 attending the game. I ended up with 3 in 401 at $50 per (face $46 I believe with the B and G donation). Cheapest I saw for anything in the lower bowl was $140 while looking Thursday and Friday, and those went pretty quickly, bumping the cheapest available I'd seen other than that set in the lower bowl back up to $200. I'd have happily paid somewhere in between those $50 and $140 for 3 in the lower bowl had they been available. Have been happy to pay that price for big games several times in the last 5 to 10 years (Senior Days, etc). I'm going to semi-violate a pet peeve of mine by not offering a great solution when bringing up a problem, but maybe something like "semi-negotiable for an MU fan" on the trading post?
GO WARRIORS!

Ticket holders are entitled to the highest dollar amount they can get.  As I said before, their are more Bucky alumni in the Milwaukee area than MU alumni.  This game comes around once every two years.  So they are always going to demand the tickets more than MU fans, that have 16 opportunities a year to see them play.

Add in that Bucky is number 2 and coming off a final four and yet they were only a small minority of the fans.  They were nothing close to the 50% predicted on the board before the game.

You're trying to fix a problem that does not exist.

The situation this year was probably the worst case scenario for Badger fans having a high demand for this game and Warrior fans having a low demand, and the amount of red wasn't all that bad.  Still don't want to see 15-25% red, but it could have been worse.

I LOVE selling tickets to UW fans.

As real chili 83 can attest, when he was bringing his UW loving in-law, I quoted him $10k each.

I buy 10 tickets, I bring 10 Warrior fans.  The end.

Sold their tickets to Wisconsin fans.

Way to show a national tv audience that Marquette has no pride.

I am not sure of the impact for this game but a few years ago after sitting in row G of section 202 for about 12 years (I am currently a 48 year season ticket holder) I went in for re seating and the entire row was immediately gone the first day.  I moved to the row ahead and experienced several games where the row was occupied by fans not cheering for Marquette.  I asked many of them how they got their tickets and they said right through the Bradley Center.  This included Badger fans from a few years ago.  A few years earlier the four seats to my right were suddenly taken by a company and the folks I had gotten to know were pushed back to the top of our lower bowl section.  I called Marquette on that and was told the University had to take care of their corporate friends.  That means money. Frequently when those seats were occupied which was sporadic I saw some MU fans with fans cheering for the opposing team in those seats.  Because of that small situation in just one spot of the Bradly Center you can see why there are folks in the bowl section not cheering for MU.  I now sit in section 212 and was pushed two seats farther from center court this year.  Those two seats were unoccupied until this game and were occupied by Badger fans.  Not sure how they got their tickets.  I think the three center court lower bowl sections are fairly secure as to seating each year except for the amount of tickets MU gives to the families of players or University friends but the other section folks have all been pushed around with this annual re seating which will I believe get worse as the years go by.  We all give more than the demanded amount and still get pushed aside.

My prior post should have made it clear I am referring to the row G behind me which was cleared and given to the Bradley Center to sell.

A couple of years ago I was given front row center floor seats to an Marquette-DePaul game at the Allstate Arena.  As part of the deal, the owner of the tickets made me agree that neither jsglow nor I could wear anything Marquette-related.  He didn't want anyone to know that he gave his seats to MU fans.

It's too bad more MU ticketholders don't have invoke that rule.

Of course, our cover was blown pretty quickly (our enthusiasm even sparked a expletive-laced argument between an extremely drunk DePaul fan and Steve Kerr), but at least there was no gold on the front row.
Have some patience, FFS.

Topper, thanks.  Wonderful experience yesterday.  You are much taller in person. ;). Seriously, very nice meeting you.

Next year, pm me.  I'll see if my bil can get you tickets in Madison.

Topper has properly outed me.  I was planning on bringing my bil yesterday.  He has been very gracious to me by hosting me in his private box for 20 years in the kohl center.

IF he were, an ND alum, he would be an outcast.
