Going to the Badger game this Saturday.  With it being an early game, what are some recommendations for pre-game festivities?

Btw, my first time at the Bradley Center too.    :o

First time at the BC?  :o :o :o

If you want the classic experience, I'd probably say Goolsby's, though I'm not a huge fan. It will be jam packed with gold and red (probably to the point you won't be able to hold a conversation or hear yourself think) before the game. Buckhead's, Buck Bradley's, and Upper 90 are all sports bar atmospheres before the game within walking distance. Not sure if Upper 90 will have the Premier League on that morning, probably a decent chance.

You could also start on campus and walk. Get a bloody at Sobelman's or hit another campus bar then head down Wells. Should be a decent day Saturday, highs around 40.

I'm like a turtle, sometimes I get run over by a semi.

I am planning breakfast at 8:00 at the Broken Yolk. From there, wide open for ideas.  Goolsbys was there back in my day too.

Goolsby's reopened Turners.  Opens at 9am Saturday.

Also the Blue & Gold Auction is Friday night.

Some buddies of mine run the Loaded Slate, always a nice time.  I imagine they will be open early for the game.

Open at 11am. They have a wicked brunch.

Also, 2 pitchers & 20 wings for $20.

Lineup at around 3am. Wait a second...that sounds miserable. The things I go through.

I can't believe that you guys aren't giving crap to someone who has 3400 posts, but hasn't been to a home game (any game?) in at least 25 years.

So, what's your excuse, Chili 83?
Have some patience, FFS.

No good excuse.  I see them every other year at Madison, and went to a number of other away games.

Tried to go to the UW game two years ago, but people wanted $400 - $500 for a set of tickets.  NFW would I pay that much.

Anyone have a suggestion for a good viewing experience downtown/third ward/east side? Our group is too large and prices are a bit too high for the BMO.

Well welcome then '83.  Great idea to start on campus at BroYo.  While chick and I don't do it often anymore because of Courtside Club pre-gaming, I still love the walk down from campus.  I've literally been taking that walk for 45 years or more.  3 years ago we escorted three HS Seniors on that walk to a game as they considered MU and were serenaded by some undergrads chanting 'I'm not that drunk!' as they headed for the BC.  Priceless.

So does anyone want to bring me some BroYo at the Bradley Center?  ;D

Still as a Senior Chitown?  Usually that's an underclassman gig unless your name is Spencer.  As you may know, my two kids were the very first in the door for Bucky when they were Frosh in 2010 and 2012, respectively.  All I remember saying was 'Be careful and NO alcohol'.

Spotcheck Billy

We'll pre-game as always at O'Lydia's and take their free shuttle (hmm, wonder what the beer of the month will be in December?)

Dont remember Glow Jr. in 2012. Wasnt here yet in 2010. I dunno, I just like going to the games early and the group I go with is made up of all seniors and one Sophomore.

Oh that takes me back. Last time I camped out it was 2010 closed some place on old world third, then went to George webbs then straight to the bradley center. Oh the lack of memories.
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

He is in the official video that's on the MUBB YouTube channel.  Buzz is handing him a donut.

I figured they'd open the door for you at RC on Saturday morning; or maybe your plan is to close RC Friday night/Saturday morning, hang out on Wells for a few hours with a paper bag over your bottle of Booker and then walk next door to BroYo???

RC is definitely in the plans for Saturday after the game.

Breakfast burrito at the B/Y for breakfast, RC later in the day.

Should make for a fun car ride home on Sunday for Mrs. RC.   :o

Legs, you going to the game?

LloydsLegs

I'm conditioning Mrs. Legs now (easy, 4ever), but may make the trip solo.  Hard to pass up the breakfast burrito followed by a vadger pounding (easy 4ever).
