I know the Polish word for turkey is indyk referring to the country of India.

I know the Polish word for turkey is indyk referring to the country of India.

It's interesting that most of Europe refers to turkey fowl with a reference to India. It underscores the powerful allure and importance of the spice trade and India's pivotal role in that commerce.
