How do you know Jamil was not a leader?

Safe to say Nevada has keener insight into the current MU team than you ever will

If theres one thing we learned so far with Wojo though, its that there are no real set positions. Heck, there was a lineup the other day with Carlino, Derrick and Duane.

Agreed play the best player, anybody can bring the ball over half court if there is no press on.

How do YOU know that Jamil was not a leader? Oh that's right, because the team wasn't very good.

I don't know anything about Jamil's leadership last season. My point is that Nevada has close, first-hand insight into the team that no one else here does. You asked how Nevada knew if Jamil was a leader . I know that Nevada does have insight no one else does. If he writes that Jamil's leadership was wanting last season I would accept that as fact.

You could actually set up a premium site and get Scoopers to pay money. It would be better intel than IWB's SaaS model. Just don't say "#done deal"

Jamel McKay since we have no height this year, they could have used him right now, probably start as the center, right he did not want to play that position, that is why he left.
Notice that Fred Hoiberg keeps saying that McKay will be the rim protector that ISU has not had.....hmmmmm.  Maybe the grass is not greener?

Not singling out Nevada but I honestly don't believe anyone on this board has as much "first-hand insight" as they may claim. It's a message board. I take all insider info with a grain of salt.

I agree with this. It was shameful what happened.

Agree DJ Newbill would have been great to have at MU.  Was my first red flag with Buzz...but gave him the benefit of the doubt that it wasn't shady.  Yet, sources have since confirmed it was in fact a direct "trade" for Jamil.

Knowing what we know now, and how things went down with Todd Mayo - would have been much better to have had DJ.  Expect DJ will have a huge year at PSU, even though he'll likely face constant double teams.

Doubt it...if he did have a connection I'd think he'd be blowing me up for all the support I've given John   ;D ...and that hasn't been the case.  Yet I do know he's connected quite well to the program..perhaps an MU Bball alum?  Hmm.

Dameon Mason.

Not saying that we would have been better off with him staying, or that he tore it up at LSU, but I was seriously bummed at the time.

1. Mbakwe
2. McKay

ODB -- We would have gotten much closer to a title in 2003 with him.

Mbakwe was a stud. Number 1 big time player.  If not McKay would been a factor this year.

You've got to pay attention around here.  ;)

My vote is Newbill, then Maymon.

Agree. He was a huge loss, what a rebounder. Would have been great on The Amigos senior season team.

On ODB, he left because he didn't want to play in DWade's shadow. He thought "that" was going to hold back his pro prospects and not allow him to showcase his skills. Pure silliness. The FF team was better without that ego.

I would say Ammo.  Not because he was the most talented player to transfer, but because we really needed some height and rebounding.  Those were the days of playing Dan Fitzgerald and Dwight Burke at center.  Unfortunate Crean and Ammo's personalities clashed.  Ammo had a nack for the ball.  High BB IQ.
