Tums Festival

Actually, Laettner's  shot was in an elite 8 game (to advance to the final 4). And to correct Wolverine, it was against Kentucky, not UCONN.

I stand corrected, it was against Kentucky.

Love Duke- always have.

Never understood the hate.  Great program year after year.  Lots (not all) of kids that actually seem like nice, well spoken people..

I think all the ref bias stuff is bs, but all depends on where you stand.  I hated the Bulls as a kid and thought they (Jordan) got away with murder...

I always liked how hard Duke teams get after it on defense. My college Bball fandom started when I lived in NC and that state had zero pro teams of any sport so watching ACC ball in the 80's was the best sports on TV there at the time. I even have a piece of the floor in Cameron in my office on a plaque my wife gave me 20 years ago. Wake is easily my favorite ACC team and they have a lot in common with Marquette this season.

I don't mind Duke. Hate seeing them win all the time because I always thought that should be Marquette. I like that Duke and Marquette are similar schools as both are private, similar sized (Duke I think has 16,000?) etc.  So that might make Wojo comfortable here.

On the Laettner shot - that was for the championship as I recall.  Jerome's was to get us into the championship game.

Laettner hit a very difficult double pump running jumper from about 12 ft to beat UConn at the buzzer in 1990 to advance to the Final Four that year.  I hated that guy, but there is no doubt that he hit some huge shots.  Of course the Kentucky one is the one that most people remember, but it wasn't any more difficult than the UConn one.  What separates it is that the Kentucky game was an all time great game start to finish and not only did Laettner have to hit the shot, but it required a great 80 foot pass from Grant Hill to get him the shot.

Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

If I remember Laettner hit all Ten of his shots.....no misses!
