Good news but Miller isn't infallible had Stone to Udub

True, but he's right on when it comes to MU. And that's what really matters.

That would be outstanding.  Is Coffey the one that is friends with Anim?

BeeJay, what say you about Coffey's game and his fit?

Coffey is exactly what we need. This would be huge.

We were in on this recruit before he got injured. We haven't wavered and that means a lot in recruiting.

Looks like a small forward, so does Hauser, could use a power forward??  Not sure you need both, thoughts on both games?  Are they the same or different?

Coffey can probably play all over. He's got lots of basketball skills.

I'd way rather him than Hauser if it was either or.

What are the details on his injury. When did he get hurt, what did he do, and when is he going to be healthy?
Thanks

ACL, I think like 6 months ago, ACL, in the next couple of months. Aiming to play this summer.

As far as Hauser vs. Coffey? Give me both and I'll run away as fast as I can. Both are good shooters (great in Hauser's case) with high bball IQ and very good passers. Coffey will likely be consensus top 40 and Hauser top 75 when it's all said and done.

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

Both are wings.  Don't know as much about Coffey but I think he and Hauser could play together.  If Wojo has 3 to offer for 2016, which is the case as of right now, I could see two wings and a big or two wings and a PG or one PG, one wing and one big.  Depends on what players Wojo thinks he can get and how he feels about the current roster PG and bigs.  In no particualr order, 2016 needs as I see them:

Big: ???
Shooter: Hauser/Huerter/Coffey??
BPA: Winston, Coffey, Hauser/Huerter

So any two of Winston, Hauser, Huerter, Coffey, and one big would have me ecstatic.

Looks like Cheatham is the same player, so is Cohen and JJJ ?

JJJ will be a senior by the time Hauser or Coffey would arrive. Cheatham is similar. Could easily do a 2-3-4 with Cheatham/Hauser/Coffey and be versatile. We need to stop worrying about possible lineups.

In 2016 we will likely add a PG as we would have:

2 PG
2 Centers
8/9 players that could make up the 2/3/4. It won't be an issue.

bilsu

Cheatham can play point and Coffey on the profile is listed as a guard.

I do not worry about that, more concerned with lack of size if Ellenson moves on in a year.  Then MU is small.

2 center types, no power forward, bunch of small forwards and two guards.  Even if you did play big, you would have no one on the bench to replace them.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Mark Miller predicted Coffey to Marquette on 247 today.

http://247sports.com/Player/Amir-Coffey-25282

Jerry Meyer usually follows suit on what Mark Miller does so if he switches from Iowa St to MU then I think we're rock solid (not saying Miller alone isn't good enough). My guess is in the next couple of days Jerry calls up Mark to ask why he picked MU, Mark tells him what he knows, and Jerry switches. If this goes down we're golden.

If Ellenson moves on after one year, I think that MU will look awfully attractive to any grad transfer PF that would be available next spring.  Kyle Washington, a regular transfer from NC State who hails from Minnesota could be on the radar, and there could be a 2016 big man we haven't heard about yet.  Wojo knows how to build a roster, I think that we'll be playing in 2016-17 with a very versatile roster that gives Wojo lots of options.

Heldt will eventually be a power forward. A more skilled Chris Grimm.

Still no back-ups if Ellenson leaves, and not sold that it is so easy to get a grad transfer as Wojo found out this spring.

No way Amir Coffey commits before playing again. Also Coffey seems to be on Minn campus all the time. With his Dad being a Gopher legend. They scare me.

I thought I heard that the plan was to groom him to replace Luke.
