Great point. I hadn't look at the advanced stats, I was merely going by the eye test.

I know Deonte can get a shot whenever he wants, and he makes a good amount. The challenge will be improving that efficiency rating as his usage goes up. It's hard to do, but I think the talent is there.

I think it might be like watching Jerel sometimes. You would be saying "No. No. No. Don't... Oh, good play." We're going to have to take some good with the bad.

It's EXACTLY like watching Jerel in that respect. I had a post comparing their advanced stats across the board a while back.

They're eerily similar in some regards. Same kind of gambler on defense too. It'll be really entertaining to see him develop.

Well done! My eyes are only 5 months behind what your numbers have already asserted.

I guess that's good?

It's pretty funny to read threads about Burton this summer and the all-out optimism. Some of us were fired up over his lack of minutes last season. Now he's the most talented player since wade, dynamic scorer, should average 15 PPG, etc. He should have been playing from day 1, along with JJJ. No reason for Juan and Thomas to take minutes from them. This team would be so much better off with that experience. JJJ and Deonte would have figured out the defensive side at some point, both are incredible athletes. I'm not worried about either on defense, JJJ was labeled as a defensive stopper out of high school.

I thought JJJ played on a team that played exclusively zone in high school?

Ha, well you were also behind on my Embiid enthusiasm, let's hope this turns out just as well!

By the way, I still see Amo's 'stache in your avatar, which means we never settled that bet.... but I don't want the 'stache to leave - I'm so torn!

I have no idea, I just remember reading about him being a defender out of high school. All his recruiting profiles complimented his defense as well. Gets to MU and forgets how to play defense? I don't buy it, just takes time to adjust to the speed.
