Mbakwe
Trevor Mbakwe was another significantly hyped recruit for MU basketball, and looked the part too.  Looking much older than 18, built like a tank, and hitting campus during the Chuck Norris craze....it was inevitable.  In one of the most epic threads in Scoop history, the Mbakwe meme emerged...fully grown and capable of wrestling two bears with his left arm...and now Mbakwe has been able to accomplish feats of skill that even Chuck would stand and applaud.

36-0 (UWM)
One of my personal favorite memes, this one celebrates the complete dominance of crosstown "rival" UW-Milwaukee by Marquette basketball.  Marquette has never lost to UWM with a 36-0 record, which is something a lot of people like to hold over the UWM heads....especially when they get lippy making the tournament once every 7 years.  In the mid-2000s UWM made a lot of noise of restarting the "rivalry" which eventually happened for 3 games, not shockingly, all MU victories.

We may have a Missouri v. Norfolk State situation here. #upsetwatch

I wonder if this is a new poster versus old poster paradigm.  That Mbakwe was probably the greatest thread in Scoop history IMHO.  While the crapastic mystery thread was longer and more angsty, nothing on Scoop gave me as much pleasure as the Mbakwe thread

The Mbakwe thread was so great it could get Ners to quit talking Derrick vs Dawson.

Probably true. The thread predates me for sure. I also love laughing at uwm

Mbakwe is so epic he could teach Tyrion how to use the search function and kick his Doberman's butt at the same time.

Sadly that has to be the case.  36-0 would not get a vote otherwise.

Everyone who is not familiar with the Mbakwe thread should take a look at it before voting.

Agreed. I voted for 36-0. Having now read the Mbakewe thread, I regret that decision.

While I find it childish and immature to boast of intoxication, I want to confirm that I was in fact blown out of my f-ing mind when I contributed to the Mbakwe thread (page 4). Either that, or my body was possessed by aliens. Or Hoopaloop nabbed my identity for a moment so as to post in my stead.

I say these things not to excuse my actions, but to explain them. I take full responsibility for my Mbakwe thread comments. I completely retract every comment I made on the Mbakwe thread. I apologize for the life long agony, pain and hurt I caused as a result of my awful decision to participate in said thread.

I am sorry. Again.

The Deonte Burton version of the thread didn't get the same amount of traction.

That's because Chuck Norris jokes stopped being funny a decade ago.

Mbakwe's epic thread lost by one vote.  This matchup should be replayed so these young upstarts can change their votes.

It's not a tragedy...it's an upset.  Blame Mbakwe for not showing up and thinking it could blow by a #15 seed.

wadesworld

This vote is a microcosm of he slow downfall of MUScoop with many of the new posters since the middle of this past season.

Mbakwe was already eyeing up the next opponent. That's the number 1 message board rule for meatheads, never look to the next opponent.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Two of us want to change our votes! Let Mbakwe win!

No, no, no...  TAMU it was *your* responsibility to do adequate research before you voted.  You can't go back and change your vote, denying 36-0 its legitimate victory, because of your incompetence.
