Any Clash of Clan players here?

Life long gamer but never got in to the mobile MMOG stuff, how much time do you spend on it? Is CoC close to the Civ series?  Loved those games.

Loved Civ 1 many, many years ago.

CoC isn't much like it.   I'd recommend just searching Youtube for a CoC video and you'll see what it's like.  You create a base, upgrade stuff, attack other people to get resources.

Civ II was the bomb, yo.  Mid 1990's was a great time for computer gaming.  Ever play Civ 5 ?

Pretty variable. You can be fine with 10 minutes/day, or you can attack and build for hours.

Even with gem boosts, I find it difficult to play meaningfully for more than 15-20 mins at a time.

Fair. I guess I was thinking play for 20 minutes, come back two hours later when your troops are ready and builders are free, repeat. Or continuously rearrange your base.

I hope so. The people I'm playing against are terrible at video games so far.

This game is extremely grindy, too.

As fun as Clash of Clans can be, it's not much more than a cash cow on a mobile platform.

Not sure what you mean there.  You can play for free.  Admittedly, if you get hooked lots of folks will plunk down $5 for an extra builder that speeds the game along.

Sent the join request.  I'm a TH8 working on maxing.  Still need walls, cannons, and Tesla's.  Lab is almost maxed as well.

It was more directed at the person he quoted previously asking if it was like other RTS games, which it is not (especially PC games like C&C and Civ which have been mentioned in this thread).  I play and enjoy CoC so I'm not bashing it I was just attempting to point out its differences.  One of which is that the game makes tons of money off of its in game shop and the nature of a mobile platform doesn't allow for a true RTS format.
