As we would have a right to, Traevon Jackson is a pretty selfish point guard.  His numbers don't look bad, but he took half of the Badgers shots in crunch time the last couple games (last five minutes of regulation and overtime vs Arizona, and last five minutes in this game).  That is not a point guard's duty, especially when he isn't their best offensive player.

THIS!!!!

Traveon Jackson played Hero ball down the stretch and his skill set is not that of an Elite Player. He will probably never be on a NBA Team....

Just because Jim Jackson is your dad that doesnt warrant you to make some of the decisions he was making.

Kaminsky was like Billy Ocean after Carribean Queen Came out and he won a Grammy in 1984 after last week. Because nothing he did today was as big as last week. The Badgers had a good year but between Jackson choices and Kaminsky not putting up those numbers. They lost.

I am very, very happy Bucky went down. Great story in Madtown is not great for MU. Last thing we needed was Bucky winning NC.

No question about it, but I admit it was enjoyable game(s) to watch.  I think it educated a few MU fans as well.  Nothing screams ignorance on this board when people say Wisconsin can't play hoops, will lose by 20, etc.  Hatred blinds a lot of people.

Bucky got the late charge call against Arizona at the end of the game that changed the trajectory of that game. Then tonight they got the call on the three pointer where Kenny Smith even said there was a travel before the foul. Bucky got a lot of breaks and had their chances.

It's what we choose to see.  There were breaks for Arizona and there were breaks for Kentucky tonight as well.

LOL

Even after the season has concluded, after Buzz has left, responding to a completely unrelated post, you continue to beat your anti-Derrick drum.

Ners, you have become a caricature

Ahh...sorry Bleu....was the first comment on Derrick I've made since the season ended...probably could have left it out though to still make the point....just because a guy has an off game (Kaminsky tonight although he drew consistent doubles and was the focal point of UK's defense)...or in the case of Dawson....an off minute or two...doesn't mean the guy isn't a good player...or in Kaminsky's case a potential lottery type talent...

You are absolutely correct....doesn't mean they won't be absolutely loaded next year, likely preseason Big Ten favorites, likely a top 10 team all year long.  What happens in the tournament happens in the tournament, you just never know.  But that doesn't take away that they will be absolutely loaded next year.
They should be loaded on paper but you never know. Alot of things fell right for them this year. Remember they lost something like 6 of 7 and some were calling for bo's head.

... and others were saying they were not going to make the tourney!!!

The an argument about why he is good.  That is not the question.  Last week all we heard was he was THE BEST as in NO ONE better.

Do you still think that?

(hint, Dakari Johnson was better tonight)

Not saying he is or isn't.  But it is a little silly to jump to conclusions based on one game.

Their first two games won't be in Milwaukee next year also!

They will likely play in Columbus, OH or Omaha, NE next year.  Maybe Louisville.

IF, they continue to play like they did this year, stay healthy and their personnel comes back.  IF.

Kaminsky was tentative for sure, almost as if he thought their best shotblocker, Cauley-Stein, was actually playing.

You mean what everyone did last week in proclaiming Kaminsky the best center in basketball.

Yes exactly.  But equally stupid of you to jump on him after tonight.

No one is jumping on him tonight.  Every agrees he is a really good college center.

This is not a comment about Kaminisky.  It is about posters that base their opinion on how a player performed the last two hours.

Gotta have a shot of Whiskey for the Badgers tonite.
Hope Jamil Wilson does too. . . When we played them he scored 22 great game.....
We played 23 Games (6 went to OT) after that and he cracked the 20 point mark just once more for the season... (Seton Hall 25pts) sheesh.

Fullodds

Huge brain fart at the end letting Harrison have a clean look.  Only thing that beats you is the 3 and you let the biggest clutch 3 pt shooter on Kentucky and in the tourney shoot a poorly contested 3.  Crazy finish and a great game.

Honestly, that was so far out there I think you have to let him shoot that.  If you close on him, he goes around you.  A guy making that shot from that far out, tip your hat to him.

But in that situation - up 2 with about 6 seconds to go - I think you want to make him try to go around you.  If he does and hits a 15-footer, the worst you have is overtime.  Let him hit a 3 and, well....

I think you want him to take a bad shot, or a difficult shot.  Looked to me like he took a difficult shot, had a hand in the face but the kid hit it.  You also don't want to foul a guy taking a 3 pointer, either.  A lot going on right there to think about.

If a 3-pointer is the only thing that can beat you, you have to be closer.  Look at how far apart the players' feet are.  The defender was several feet away from the shooter, and by the time the defender's hand got there, the ball was several feet in the air.  In that situation, you get in his grill and try to make him drive.

Yeah don't get up him, it's not like he just him a game winner from the exact same spot to make the final four.  Oh wait...

Jim Nantz called the shot before it even went in, saying "that's his spot on the floor."  He couldn't believe Gasser wasn't guarding him.  You can't let him have that look...even a deep look.  Let him drive, make the 2pts if need be, and try to win in OT.
