The Hillbilly won the lottery with all things started for him.  There are real reasons why MU didn't try to keep Buzz \ pushed him out vs a real reason why they didn't want Crean to go.

If Buzz was so wonderful, MU would have done everything they could to keep him.  If he was the best thing since Al McGuire, MU would do everything the could to keep him.................................

It terms of performance on the floor, he was the best thing since Al, yet Marquette was content to see him leave.  Ouch.  Let's hope that Wojo stays, although if he is successful, he'll make himself the number one candidate to one day replace Coach K.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

There is a difference. Bert left when the gittin' was good. Tom Crean was summarily dismissed.

You have alluded, on 27 different occasions, to the "real reasons" regarding MU opening the door to let Bent out. Without compromising your sources (ahem), might you be so kind as to articulate what the "real reasons" might be? This, for those of us who fully agree with you that something happened, but who might be a tad slow on figuring out what those reasons might be. Thank you.

Buzz had a lot of issues within the program, I might have taken that guaranteed contract. Third new regime at MU, time to move on, can he take Derrick with him.

News coming from 4I?  The surprise in MU land and where he landed hardly makes Crean getting summarily dismissed from MU credible.

Probably could, but he won't.

Pretty sure that's a play on a Tom Cream tweet. He mistakenly tweeted that about some recruit instead of sending him a PM.

Was it ever established WHO TC tweeted about? The tone and context is not those typically used when talking to a recruit.

This. Brent was the coach at Marquette for as long as they'd have him. And not any longer.

-Fallout from sex assault reporting scandal. While Brent Williams didn't do anything wrong per se (unless you want to argue he could've reported directly to MPD sooner) things were never the same for him at MU thereafter.
-Conflicts over recruiting: Academic caliber of recruits, profile of recruits, etc.
-Discipline of current players.
-Conflicts over expectations of current MU players in the classroom and community.

BW did a lot of good things for Marquette and Milwaukee. There was a total breakdown between BW and the Administration.

All of this was very unfortunate for everyone involved it seems.

Switch those two around and you have an accurate statement.

Would you agree that sometimes it is more than performance on the floor that is critical?  You can look good on the outside while the body is diseased on the inside.

"content" isn't the word I would have used....."ouch" isn't either.

Gotta side with Chicos here.

Everybody on this board is guilty of conjecture at times.  Whether Chicos has inside information or not isn't the issue.  Neither is him choosing to share that information or not to.

He clearly has strong opinions on the issue and can be a polarizing figure on this board, but rarely does he make a statement that is overtly false or without merit.

For you to smugly call him out is rediculous at this point.  Why don't you reference your vintage briar pipe some more like it's some kind of status symbol?  I could just as easily mention my seven 1957 Fender tweed twins sitting in my studio but nobody gives a sh!t.

I think a Les Paul is best paired with an early AC30 top boost myself, but nothing sounds bad through a tweed twin.

I wanted the Rice-A-Roni.

I told you the other day, others are coming out with stuff, slowly and surely.  I put out my concerns years ago and it was not pleasant.  People circled the wagons, no one wanted to hear it.  The hypocrisy was off the charts.  No, I'll just sit back and watch it unfold.  Some may not get out there, some will.  It's already started with some folks.  You don't let a coach with that success walk away to go to a God awful place like Va. Tech without reasons.

I thank him for his service, I'm glad he isn't coaching at MU anymore.
