I fully expect to lose most of our current commits and we will gain new ones...that's just how this stuff goes. This year will be lean but next year will be much better as the new assistants will be on board working their magic!

Pretty sure that's a play on a Tom Cream tweet. He mistakenly tweeted that about some recruit instead of sending him a PM.

I think the school we nosed out to get Med Hill to sign with us was Missouri.  Anyone know their scholarship situation as it stands today?  That would seem a very likely destination IF he wants out of his MU LOI.

When Kansas had an opening and wanted Tyshawn Taylor it was curtains. If Kentucky really wants Ahmed Hill I'd expect the same.

The next game.... or two.... and how well the Harrison twins do, will dictate the Hill decision.  If tHarrison twins play lights out the next 2 games, then I think they leave.  If they have a poor showing against Wisconsin, I think they stay as their stock won't be anything special.

I don't know about their scholarship situation, but their program is a mess right now. Players getting arrested on drug charges, assaulting each other. The last month has been brutal over there.

You are full of $hit, you have no clue who Wojo has talked to or not.  You mean to tell me he has been on the job 4 days and you think he has not even called Hill?  Yeah that is believable.

You can curse all you want, but in-homes take a while to set up. You're completely out of touch if you think we'd let these cats walk after just a phone-call.

Marial Shayok (@supermarial03) plans to meet with Coach Wojo this week to discuss his future, per @HoopsHypeCA. #mubb

Med is big on relationship with the coach.. could see him going to VT.

Believe it or not I wasn't a scholarship athlete at MU so I won't pretend to know exactly what goes into a recruits thinking.  That said, I would think the relationships they have developed with the current players and other recruits would be a major factor in the decision to back out of their commitment.  If the coach was the only reason to choose a school, i would not respect recruit's process.

I am not suggesting the player relationships are more important than the relationship with the coach, but, they are going to be spending more time in the next four years with the other players than the coach.  I think it should be a larger factor than is being given credit for on this board.

I have to think it is a major plus that the player exodus has not happened, in terms of MUs ability to keep recruits.  Or, to put it another way, it could be worse!

sailwi

I think part of the reason we have not seen any exodus is the parameters MU has put out.  LOI signors need to meet with WOJO before we will grant them a release.  None of the players gone public with they are being held hostage, etc like Hurley did with Taylor so it appears we are in better shape but I don't know if that is necessarily true.  Seems the players are respecting the process and not being jerks like Hurley.

TedBaxter

I wiuldn't be surprised if Wojo will have had face to face visits with all 4 of the signees as early as the end of the weekend.  Just a guess as Pierce just returned from a trip to China.

Too bad policy apparently dictates a face to face w/Pierce. Nothing more than a project; will be a waste of fossil fuel.

Careful. I mentioned that on the last page and I was told that I'm full of crap.

Teams would make room for Hill. Pearce and Shayok would probably go mid-major where there will be plenty of openings.

Why would they take a step down?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Pitt and Miami (both ACC BTW) beg to differ.

Who are the Assistants. Don't Wojo have any in place?

Not surprised about anything.  In fact I'm quite happy he's already spoken with and met Sandy as well as talked to some of the other guys (even Flory).  Clearly he's dedicated.  A lot is going on and he will get to the recruits as soon as he can.  To be honest I like that he's focusing on developing relationships with the current players first.

Totally agree. Also if you look at HIll's twitter backround it is a picture of the Bradley Center Packed with the MU floor. I think he is still a SOLID commit.

If it is down to us and the Hillbilly, we probably will get all of our recruits. We have a. Dynamic new coach with a winning tradition and good returning talent.

They have the Hillbilly. By all measures, he has limited talent, is in the ACC and will take at least a few years to rebuild.

Plus! Our players aren't bemoaning the loss of the Hillbilly as their head coach the way I would have expected? That tells me there is way more to what happened that what's been said.

I suspect we'll be OK and the Hillbilly will be an unemployed Hillbilly in just a few short years.

The Hillbilly took MU to a higher level then Crean, maybe the best since Al, and you complain.  I hope Wojo can do as good.  Buzz brought in Fulce and Butler in right away with his connections,
that was pretty good start.  Lets see how Wojo sells the 4 kids committed.  Buzz lost out on Tyshawn Taylor who was pretty good at Kansas.  Taylor left, hopefully Hill will not.  Maybe there is another player out there that Wojo will be in contact with to save this recruiting year.  It probably would be best just to bring in 2 kids this year.

Yes, you just nailed it on the head.  This clearly proves that Hill is coming to MU.  Twitter has a new app that connects to our brains internally, so all thoughts are projected onto the twitter page itself.

I didn't criticize what the Hillbilly did for us at Marquette. Quite frankly, I would rather had him not become a hillbilly and stay with us at Marquette. I thought last year was bizarre and a learning experience for the Hillbilly, and had hoped for better things next year. We will have better things next year with Coach Wojo.

What I have said elsewhere is that we have gone through a messy and painful divorce with the Hillbilly. He left with our money, house and valuables and left us with alimony and child support. That's why I don't like the Hillbilly. I look forward to him waking up in his $10 million mansion in Blacksburg unemployed someday.

HO MU. Go WOJO!!!

The Hillbilly won the lottery with all things started for him.  There are real reasons why MU didn't try to keep Buzz \ pushed him out vs a real reason why they didn't want Crean to go.

If Buzz was so wonderful, MU would have done everything they could to keep him.  If he was the best thing since Al McGuire, MU would do everything the could to keep him.................................
