Thx so much for posting.  That captures my feelings as well.  Buzz provided so many incredible memories and left MU basketball at a spot as close to the Al days as was humanly possible.  He was and is a sincere guy.  I am not a Chicos basher in general but his sentiments (FU) are so incredibly juvenile.  What a sad thing for him that he could not derive the full enjoyment of the last six years.  When Crean left and no one wanted the job to an Al like run with incredible personalities, individual stories, boot camp the reliance on character over just win.  It was a great ride.  Personally would have liked Howland (which btw proves the MU head coaching gig HAS moved beyond the stepping stone status at least for a potential hall of fame coach) but like very much what I have seen from Wojo.

Go Warriors! And G*d bless Buzz - keep going for happy over the less worthwhile things in life.

I didn't read Lenny's because I appreciate paragraphs, but since you commented I have no doubt he mentioned me in this soliloquy.  Look, I've said plenty of good things about Buzz over the years as a coach and I enjoyed the wins like anyone else, but I also didn't stick my head in the sand like so many people here did.  And for that and for others that dared to say it, we got steamrolled.  God forbid we dared to say it and also said the chickens will roost some day.  Well, that came.

My FU Buzz is simple, its because I love this program.  When I see a coach leave MU for IU, that's one thing.  You are supposed to leave MU for IU or KU or UK, etc.  When I see a coach leave (pushed out) for Va Tech at a lower salary and bashing the conference and the television network in the process, that's another.  Then when you add in all the BS squirm crap over the years, well juvenile it is.  Keep putting your head in the sand, I don't particularly care.

And yeah, the hypocrisy here over the last 6 years has been absolutely unnatural carnal knowledgeing stunning.  I know KO left this program better than he inherited it.  I certainly know Crean did.  We'll see if Buzz did...yes, he had 3 wonderful NCAA tournaments in a row, much of it undone by his other nonsense.

Thank you Buzz....your schtick will be a hit down in Virginia.  I appreciate the winning memories, Buzz's Bunch, etc...and, yes,  I'm glad you are gone for the few reasons mentioned and the many more that haven't.

So the best NCAA tourney run (consecutive years) since Al has already been undone?  Please explain.

You are forgetting a few things Rocky: 17-15, worse record in 10 years, no dance, disastrous player decisions, and BS. That helps explain it.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

Can anyone give specifics on the sleaze factor?  I have heard this much more this past season than in the 5 yrs prior.  Chicos takes about Squirmy but none of that was about recruiting or public facing appearance.  I have heard a lot of things on this board that have been proven untrue:

  • possible investigation
  • the Duane Wilson did not want to redshirt
  • mayo and Buzz hate each other

Each of the players mentioned talking to Buzz about their status and why they weren't playing.
Forgot a couple: disingenuous about Taylor and Du. Wilson
continuing to give a backup PG 30 plus minutes again when it was apparent we were losing out butt

Ballboy,

For me it was the high player turnover and specifically the Newbill situation. There were other things as well. The rape accusation and basically firing an assistant as a scape goat. Individually you could look at it and conclude, no big deal. When you look at it all together, t makes you squirm a little.

You were conscious during the times of October 2013 to March 2014, correct?

To not even make the NIT, after being picked to win the conference, with plenty
of highly rated recruits and BE POY candidates populating the roster, all the while
mentally checking out because of MALAISE AND MELANCHOLY--yeah, that undid
a lot.
