MU admin flying to Richmond today

Warrior Ram -  How does this process differ from what you guys observed the past couple of years with Minnesota and UCLA.  Specifically in terms of timing definitiveness  or statements acknowledging  his willingness to stay at VCU. Seems to me Shakas inability to decide is causing this whole thing to be delayed.  Meaning there still is a chance

I suppose there is a chance they've been talking. I'll admit as much. I still think it was nothing more than a process of gaining some leverage on this end, though...at the very most.

I have no reason to weigh the Marquette sources over the VCU ones, "just because." None of the national sports media has mentioned anything significant beyond simple talks. Everything I've heard about Doc etc. is purely speculation if we're looking at this objectively. If it happens, it happens, but some of this is just getting silly at this point.

Agreed. If true, which I have significant doubt, its not about leverage...there was mutual interest earlier in the week, but had to get new prez on board. If there is a meeting, its not some desperate attempt by MU, it was pre-arranged.

This is speculation all over again that's unneeded.  If true, it could literally mean anything.  Hell it could be misinformation put out there to leverage a different candidate into accepting an offer.  If anything that's probably what it is, as there has been no information in the public domain to indicate Shaka is still a possibility.

Can someone tell me why we believe this rumor over "Shaka is flying to Milwaukee tonight!"

Also, in the case of most high-profile hires (at least in college football) parties fly to a neutral location. They wouldn't walk through the front door of his home in Richmond.

Maybe a healthy dose of skepticism would benefit some.

There hasn't been any indication that anyone else is still a possibility either. Marquette seems to now be keeping everything close to vest.

Any major coach like Shaka would use something like this to get a raise. No doubt in my mind.

That hasn't happened yet. Until it does, or MU hires someone else, I have no reason to believe he's not interested.
