Wouldn't the reason be that our basketball coach left somewhat unexpectedly and we need to at least have a president in place before we decide who the new basketball coach will be? I'm not buying that this points to Shaka being our coach.

I agree with that. Not having a Prez was having a negative effect in the process no matter who the candidate is/was.

Obviously, we'll hear nothing today. This is the prez's day to shine. But I have a hunch we may have a new coach tomorrow. However, if nothing tomorrow...then we'll have to sit tight for a few more days. Can't imagine MU would hire someone and have it get lost over the weekend.

Posted this elsewhere.... a couple of things.    First, symbolically the president has to come before the basketball coach.    Second, IMO this deal was settled on a few weeks back, but the announcement date was moved up  to remove the perceived weakness of going to a school without a president.   If Buzz was still coach, this announcement would have come 4-6 weeks from now.      With this announcement made, the way is clear to announce the new basketball coach.   Again, just my opinion, but I predict there will be an announcement in the next 1-2 days.
