Interesting. The VCU fans were confident that if Shaka Smart left that Rhoades would take over for him. So, maybe that's a sign that Smart is indeed staying at VCU.

I take this one of two ways. Either he was not the heir in waiting VCU thought him to be so he left or that Shaka isnt going anywhere. This information does not answer anything.

Curious--do you know the terms of the Rice contract, do you know if VCU reached out to Rhoades indicating that he wasn't a shoe-in, etc.? I wouldn't be so quick to interpret this one way or another. But then again, it is the Internet. Carry on.

Tell us why would we take an assistant from a mid-major? Much better options. Like your current head coach  :P Ill say it again. I dont think MU lands Shaka but if by some miracle they do, you will be the first one I contact.
