Sitting there in a beach chair with a bucket of Real Chili and some Sprecher Hefe Weiss.  I might be blocking the door slightly.  I think they'll appreciate the "Shaka Smarquette" mesh half shirt.  If you come by bring some wet-naps.  I'm a mess.
I'm like a turtle, sometimes I get run over by a semi.

So much win. I laughed so hard
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Are we pushing for Maya Smart to teach a class as a package deal?  She's certainly qualified.

I already did. I was told I need to do some light trolling on here, so I'm trying to live up to that.

Via alter ego as you mentioned on the other board...?

This has gotta be tough for you. I don't envy you, regardless of outcome here.
Relax. Respect the Process.

Worst possible scenario...I had nightmares about this stuff. Sans VCU joining the Big East and having to play Marquette.

This type of situation really shows you what it means to be a fanatic though. I've been attacked from both sides. Sort of enjoyable, but I probably need to step away from the computer at this point.

Oh no, a strong woman who eschews gender stereotypes... that's not going to play well with the sweatervests.

I was in the Howland camp before, but now I'm on the fine line between him and Shaka.  Nothing like seeing the old fogies squirm and b!#@h about today's women.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Can we compile a retrospective whenever this crap show is over?  This and the canoe joke have been more than solid contributions.

Smart has been open about his political preferences too. Not sure how that would fly at Marquette :P

That crossed my mind. But he enjoys campaigning and I can vouch that most of the campaigns in WI are crazy passionate and fun to work on.

Also, keep an eye out for a lady with short blond hair and 4 kids wearing a Virginia Tech sweat shirt trying to return a sh1tload of Marquette stuff

Then you, my anonymous internet friend, don't know Jack about Marquette.  We've hired openly gay deans.  Sure, we still have to take the next step of not subsequently firing them before their first day on the job... but the first step is always a doozy.

I think that I have read literally every post since Friday.

I thought about doing it a la BrewCity-E8-in-yo-face! style.

I started thinking about cataloging all of the great posts with a +1 so that I could look at my own history and go back.  But I didn't and I regret it  :-\

Like there are no left-leaning types that work at MU.  Please.

After the way we handled that one lesbian dean hire, I'm going to say there's very few that are outspoken till shown otherwise.

There will be a ton of squirming if Smart starts talking about his extremely liberal political views.

It seems as though you've been following Shaka Smart quite closely over the years.
