I'm living in a NIGHTMARE right now

Why?

Ben Howland is a great coach.  You hate final fours?

Howland is a much better coach and recruiter than Buzz.  I'd kiss the ground if he was the next MU head coach.  However, he will likely bolt the program after 6 years as well for a blue blood.

Rather have Tommy Amaker than Howland

Right, because he did so well at Michigan and Seton Hall, and Howland did so bad at UCLA and Pitt

I follow our team religiously, follow the rest of sport sparingly. Many were disappointed that Buzz wasn't a big name. I think that Howland is. What is perceived as wrong with him? Seems good to me.

I'd sign up for Howland right now. Dude's been nothing but successful. Not sure I wouldn't have signed up for Howland yesterday, might be an upgrade, and I like Buzz. One thing almost for sure...would be his last job.

Howland is about as good as it gets for this. I said that last year when the rumors swirled.
“All men dream; but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act out their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.” - T.E. Lawrence

Howland could be a 10 year solution, old enough MU could be his last stop.  I hate we have become a stepping stone, IU I could understand VT I cannot.  Whoever is hired next I'm not believing any of their BS.

Coaches usually get better at x and o's, as they get older.   Recruiting takes innate qualities.

He's 56 and has already coached a blue blood for 10 years.  He's been around enough to settle here to overwhelming support and  to not have his head up his rear end and one foot out the door.  The blue bloods on a succession plan won't hire him at 62.

If he's interested as Katz and Parrish claim, that's a blessing.

Problem with Howland is that he lost control of his players and the program at UCLA

Larry and Pilarz set this day up....surprised Buzz didn't give Wild and next AD a shot but gotta roll the dice again.

Pakuni

Assuming he learned from his mistakes at the end of his UCLA tenure, this would be a very good hire.

Howland is an upgrade.   Better coach, good recruiter.   I'd be thrilled if we landed him.   Also he'd be less likely to bolt for greener pastures after what UCLA did to him.

Howland is an upgrade from Buzz??   ::)   Screwing up the UCLA job doesn't afford me much comfort.

Go through and write down the names of players in the NBA that have played for Howland.  Then write down the names of those in the NBA of both Buzz and Crean combined....

Three final fours, the guy recruited and coached Russell Westbrook and Kevin Love, can't be lost on recruits
