We're screwed. Who all leaves Marquette now? Including freshmen and incoming recruits?

klyrish

I just got the notice from the Score Center app. WTF?!

They must be throwing stupid money at him.  Or Buzz realizes that the new Big East is garbage.  Or both.

New Big East has to be a huge factor

So if he is anything like his mentor, the players should be finding out about right now

Rudy

Now the members of this board can coach this team. Awesome!

"But the breakup of the Big East has changed the nature of the Marquette job, and the school is still without an AD, meaning Williams has no idea who his boss might be in a year. That uncertainty was enough to make Williams jump to Virginia Tech, sources told CBSSports.com."

Ners, your time has come.  Good luck.

Wow. Good luck, guy. Thanks for the string of success here. What else can you say? No sense in getting pissed. Upward and onward.

Buzz Williams left Marquette for a variety of reasons, sources told ESPN. One of the biggest was new league/new TV package.

Wow.  I thought the upside of having such a poor season was we wouldn't have to go through the season of "Buzz to" rumors".  Guess I was wrong.

I have no issue with a man making a decision to better his life, though its strange he would do it at such a salary reduction.  There was always something about Buzz that didn't sit well with me, I didn't think he was genuine.  I think it was comments such as "I'll stay as long as he'll have me".  As time went on and I heard things about Buzz's bunch and his teams did so well, I thought perhaps I was just wrong.

Now I'm not sure what to think.  Why would a man who has had such success and seemed prime to succeed in the future (despite the conference change) leave for what is not a definite upgrade?  Does it reflect on him or is there something at Marquette that results in coaches not wanting to be here after a certain amount of time?  Is his decision to leave entirely a reflection on Buzz or does it also indicate that there is something unique to Marquette that despite the investment in facilities and salary, results in successful coaches looking for the next opportunity?

I'm numb.

And still hoping it's false.  Please let this be some sort of cruel joke.
