Hey MUscoop,

I've been writing some articles about Marquette this season and just finished one and posted it today. I'd be delighted if you were to check it out and let me know what you thought.

Here's the link.

Thanks

These posts are not frowned upon.  Encouraged, I would say.

Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

Wide open right now.  Nova gone.  St. John's gone.  G'Town gone.  Xavier injured at key spot

+1  Couldn't have asked for a better start to the tournament.

Question is whether we seize the great opportunity that has become an even greater opportunity, or crap the bed?  Let's hope we seize it.  Absolutely could not have laid out any better than this and still could get better if DePaul pulls off the upset.

I would contend that Georgetown beating DePaul would have been much better.  DePaul has almost no chance against Creighton.  Georgetown has talent and could have gotten hot for one game.  Then MU beats a GT team on there 3 game in 3 days.

Ben Golds Five

Agreed.  We have a great chance tonight, but tomorrow against Creighton would be tough.  If we lucked out and won both, there's no one on the other side we couldn't beat.

I suppose you could argue that.....I'm thinking things have fallen into magical shape for us so far.

It's certainly looking better, but really Creighton losing is what would be "magical" shape.

May be a bit strong of words, Creighton is till in our way and I feel they are our achilles heal this year.

I see what you did their Chicos'
Your setting this whole tournament up as a lose lose for Marquette.

If Marquette loses against X than crapped the bed, but if they win it was only cause Stainbrook was out.

Marquette would need to win the next 3 by at least 20 points for you to be happy.

Don't disagree with you, but either way we still have to go through Creighton. If we don't beat Creighton what Nova or St. John's did really doesn't matter to us.

Now, if DePaul somehow by the grace of God beats Creighton, then you are absolutely right, we would be set up perfectly.

This tournament is unreal. Not counting on Depaul...hell we got to get past Xavier. If we do when was the last time a team beat another 3 times in the same season.

It happens a lot!!

Purdue just beat Ohio State for the 3rd time today.
Arizona beat Utah for the 3rd time today
We beat Seton Hall 3 times a few years ago
We beat Louisville 3 times in 2002 as well.

The 3 times thing is one of the biggest myths in sports.  The reason why people think it happens all the time is that when it happens, it is usually a giant upset and people tend to remember giant upsets.

Let's hope DePaul can do it.

There were 4 teams that scared me in this tournament.  SJU, Nova, Creighton, Georgetown.  We were a combined 2-6 against them including an OT win at G'Town and a 2 point win against G"town.  Three of the four are out in their first game.  That's pretty crazy.  Almost magical.

Dont worry; we will be playing DePaul  ;)

Seton Hall appears to hold the glass slipper right now.  We've been waiting for JW to go all crazy and score 35 tonight is the night.  If he hits that 1st mid range jumper from the right side were OK.  If not look out.

Purdue lost to Ohio State today...though it may be you were saying OSU beat Purdue 3 times?

You are right, though, the idea it is harder to win for a third time is a myth.
