I will never be able to understand the thought processes of those TX schools. $60mil for a stadium. if you're going to do something that freaking outrageous, why not a $30mil stadium and $30mil to improve your academics?

Maybe, but throwing more money at academics has a dubious track record as well.  More money doesn't necessarily = better results.  I put a graph up here a few days ago showing how test results haven't improved a lick in the last 20 years despite expenditures going up X fold.

But don't fret, the brilliance of California with a $578 million school complex that opened up a few years ago.  That's not a typo, $578 million school complex (elementary, middle and high school).

I think they would argue it is a stadium that is used for high school games, but more than just that.  I don't disagree with you, but that is probably what they will argue based on the Forbes story from last year.
