How should I (we) feel about tonight?

I love a win as much as anyone. And, 2 more wins and we should be in the tourney. However, we had their top 3 post guys fouled out with 7? 8? minutes left in the 2nd half. We had the bonus with 12 minutes to go. Yes, this game was terrible officiated, but we had a 7 point lead a couple times AFTER getting the bonus and gtown players fouling out. How does it come down to the last shot of the game? How?

And this is basically with career games from Gardner and Jake.

I'm guessing one factor is Jamil and Todd didn't know we had a game tonight.

This win leaves me with a sour taste.

And I hate Stockton announcing.

Jake and Davante with career games. Congrats to those guys.

Not sure how I feel about the crazy offense/defense subs in, especially, the first half.

Did we start the game down 15-4? We can't do that. Not sure what to change, except the starting lineup.

Whole team, but especially guards, played outstanding in terms of turnovers.

Edit: changed to make this a more open thread

Less sour than the DePaul win

WellsstreetWanderer

One Georgetown guy willed them to stay in the game that's how it was so close.
That and they made like 24 free throws

MU B2002

It's a win against another bubble team.  Time to feel good.

Starks and Smith-Rivera are awfully good players, and JTIII isn't such a bad coach either.

Also, while we didn't have anyone foul out, we had 4 guys playing with 4 fouls down the stretch.

And it didn't help to have Bad Todd and Bad Jamil on the same night.

WarriorHal

Nobody but Gardner could do anything offensively over the last 7-8 minutes. And Georgetown's guards kept scoring and scoring, either from the field or the line. It did seem like we should have had a commanding lead, but never really did.

We won. I missed a lot due to heavey intoxication

But play Ox. Every game. Play Todd every game. Jamil duh.  Derrick then Dawson on match ups. Jake. Steve most of time. Sporadic Juan

Plain and simple that wins .

Ox and Todd are winners!!!
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

AirPunches

Ah the Gtown bigs are all the same. Nothing impressive. The studs are the guards and trawick is pretty good. They weren't in foul trouble and had good games. It was a good win.

nyg

Free throws, period.

Gtown was 27 for 30.  90%, amazing.

MU 23 for 34, with two frontend misses.

All other stats, fg%, rebounds, assists, tos, almost equal.

Best stat was MU was down 15 to 4 to start game and came back.

Agree on Todd but not tonight. He was abysmal down the stretch. And Jamil was invisible after bricking four of his first five shots.

Jamil and Todd provided nothing tonight. No offense and terrible D. Todd goes for way too many fakes and their guards ate our guards for lunch.

Poor officiating.

But a win is a win. Keep grinding.

That's why when I couldn't decide between Jake or Davante for SOTG, I voted to remove 1 SOTG award each from Jamil and Todd.

Holy crap. Jake had a partial shoulder dislocation in the Depaul game. Swollen/bruised all through the week, including tonight. Not sure which shoulder.

Three players accounted for 23 of the made FTs. Starks was 10-10, Rivera was 5-6 and trawick was 8-8.

Thanks - I was wondering why he had the wrap.

Only this year would we have a thread complaining about beating Georgetown by any amount.... they're a good team and we didn't even play our top game... but we still win and live to see another day so let's move on to Sunday.

Buzz said he was not supposed to play (doubtful), but that he insisted to be in the lineup.

If you can't enjoy the wins, what's the point of being a fan?

This was a really good win. Borderline bizarre second half, with the ref show and all. Georgetown barely had to make a FG to stay in the game. They played with great poise down the stretch on the defensive end, given the foul trouble. Made just enough plays to win.

More importantly, that's a sweep of a team MU might be up against for a bid. Big win.

is it common for that many players to be icing their knees after a game?

also, flood looks like he's been spending quite a bit of time in the weight room

Some of the DNPs and barely played players have ice on their knees. Wonder what the deal is

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Thats a sweet lockerroom. Why the hell is Apollo 11 "retired" absolutely no reason for that. (certainly doesnt help that its my favorite number as well)
