As I just mentioned in the other thread, I'm going to get Jerry Palm on CS (if I can, I know this time of year is crazy for him) and he will explain it quite nicely to you and everyone else here.

When I say MU is supposed to win per the RPI, I'm using it in the sense of the Sagarin predictor model.  So in that sense you are correct, as the RPI isn't a predictive tool. 

So to clarify, I'm using the current RPI scores, applying the Sagarin predictor method, in which case it states MU should win this game.  Hopefully that appeals to your sensibilities more.

Or, if you wish, we can go to other ratings.  KenPom's data predicts we will win today.  Sagarin data predicts we will win today.  Massey data predicts we will today.  RPI data (using Sagarin predictor method), says we win today.  So on and so forth.

You're *ALMOST* understanding my point.

You are NOT using current RPI scores. You were simply using Sagarin, PERIOD. You said "we are supposed to win today per the RPI". That is completely false. The RPI has nothing to do with Sagarin, Kenpom, etc.

Again, my point is that you're not understanding what the RPI is and what it isn't.. and you do not understand the sensitivities. Jerry Palm can't tell me a thing that I don't fully understand.

I do not think we are legit NCAA team this season but plenty of time to get in the mix. Things turn quickly over a long season, especially this time of year.

That logic makes absolutely no sense.  Lunardi is ESPN's resident bracketologist.  I think he cares about the accuracy of his projected field.

It also is exactly the same reasoning as those who believe the committee favored Big East teams when they had their ESPN deal.  If what you believe is true, then the only reason we made it as an 11 seed was because of ESPN.  I fully believe that team deserved to get in that year.  If this year's team doesn't get selected they have rightfully earned that as well.

In his last bracket math on Tuesday he had Marquette as 10th out directly behind Indiana. Indiana then lost to Penn State. So I am making an assumption that we would have passed them. We may have been jumped by others behind us but I think 9th-10th out is a safe assumption
