.500 in the Big East is harder to do than .500 in the B10.  Big East is just a lot stronger at the bottom of the conference.

So does our win against G-Town look better now that they beat #7 or we are who we think we are.

And would Syracuse be 20-0 if they hadn't left??

Getting Jabril Trawick back from injury is huge for G-Town.

You guys do realize the big ten has killed the big east head to head this year, right?

Take the emotion out of it, they are ranked in every power rating ahead of our conference by several spots for a reason.

No doubt!

But that makes this MSU loss look EVEN WORSE!

No Whittington.
No Smith.

Yes and our losses against tOSU and Bucky look worse as they are both stinking out the place.

#24 tOSU will not be ranked next week after losing to PSU earlier this week (was #3 a few weeks ago!).

Bucky was #14 this week and them lost at home against NU and tOSU.  Look for them to be in the 20s next week poised to exit the top 25 in a week or two, especially if MSU blows them out next weekend. (Bucky was #4 a few weeks ago)

Syracuse is looking like the best team in the country to me.  Going to be a very tough tournament team.

DePaul won at Northwestern. Villanova beat Iowa. Georgetown win is great for the BE, as some have been taking shots at the league.

Taking the emotion out of it, I'd say the BIG was a lot better in November and December than they are right now. UW got those extra preseason games and were very good early. They're not now. Ohio St is playing poorly. Anyone really think Michigan is a Final Four contender? I don't. Iowa is good not great. I still think MSU can be really good, but even given their injuries today's game against a team on the ropes is a head scratcher. Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, Northwestern, Purdue, Nebraska, Penn St? Meh.

Umm. I have it at 5-5.  4 of those 5 wins are against MU and St. Johns (two teams from our conference who have really struggled).  We have wins against MSU and Iowa, two of their leaders.

But your right, lets take emotion out of it and go with those damn pesky stats.  Head to head it has been a wash record wise, with the Big East showing that they can go in and beat the top of their league, even when they are playing our bottom half.

Umm. I have it at 5-5.  Most of their wins being against he bottom half of our league.  We have wins against MSU and Iowa, two of their leaders.

And that 5-5 breaks down like this:

    November: Big 10 4-1
    December :Big 10 1-3
    February.  : Big 10 0-1

I don't know what Chicos is smokin' but I want me some.

I watched it and looking at the box score, I am trying to figure out how the Hoyas won.  They only had 9 assists on 22 made baskets and had 16 turnovers.  They also shot 16% from the 3 pt line.

I did find it interesting that Izzo was getting his players to deliberately foul only down 2 with like 2 minutes left with the Hoyas in the bonus.

Yup, I stand corrected.  5-5 is what I have as well after today.  I was just going to post this....that's what I get for posting the other one from a bar.  LOL.  I was wrong.  No doubt.

I actually think the Big Ten is better at the bottom this year than last year.  Last year the Big Ten had 4 really good teams at the top.  This year, the teams at the top are good, not great, but would anyone here want to go into Nebraska and their brand new building where they are 10-1?  Or at Penn State?  The bottom of the Big Ten is better this year than it was last year.

As far as them playing the Bottom of our league..I think you might want to double check that....unless Marquette is the bottom of the league   :o

If you use today's standings

Their #2 lost to our #7  Georgetown over MSU
Their #3 beat our #4  Iowa over Xavier
Their #3 lost to our #2 in OT  Villanova over Iowa
Their #4 lost to our #9   DePaul over NW
Their #5 beat our #5  OSU over MU
Their #5 beat our #5  UW over MU
Their #11 beat our #7  Penn State over St. John's
Their #8 lost to our #1 Creighton over Nebraska
Their #8 lost to our #9 Butler over Purdue

Seems to me both conferences have played teams up and down the standings (now that I'm not at a bar and can confirm that).

I'll stick to the other one...we're 4th for a reason...they are 1st or 2nd (depending on the power ranking) for a reason.  We're pretty good, not as good as that conference.
