these are nice- WAY better than anything Adidas has come up with/ruined in the past 5 years..
i think MU needs to create an alternate, either Grey or Baby Blue, that has as cursive/script Marquette. Kansas, MSU, Wich St, and Memphis had those this season and they are awesome. think that would look good on the MU' uniforms...

Considering MU's unique uniform history, I for one would like to see a new uniform set soon. HATE the shoulder piping.

I *LOVE* the piping down the side. LOVE IT.

Also, I actually had that Chones picture printed as a color poster today.

It was a different time back then.  People didn't leave.  Unfortunately, that time has passed, but so have many of his admirers.

Chones,McNeil and Lucas all left early.3 years in a row.Not sure what you are talking about.

The piping is getting old now that so many other teams are copying it.

First, sorry, I typed unfortunately, and meant fortunately.  My point was unclear.

I think Jim Chones should definitely have his number retired.  He, Lucas, Wade, Lee and (McNeil or Meminger) were, in my opinion, the best 5 players ever at MU (George Thompson, Bo and a few others could definately be in the conversation).  But he left mid-season, and I don't think that most fans back then accepted players leaving early, especially mid-season.  And my point was, during the late 70's and 80's, the fan base and MU Athletic leadership was focussed on other issues, and there was not a lot support to overcome that old-time fan bias.  After that, Jim's accomplishments have been somewhat lost on younger fans, so I don't see enough popular support today to retire his number.

Good post.He was a Consensus 1st team All American. His Jersey should have been retired before they retired Lucas,Tatum and Lee jerseys.I don't care if he left early. His accomplishments should determine if his jersey should be retired.Just isn't right.

Agree, and I should have put Earl Tatum in the conversation for that top 5 list.
