Mods -- Can we ban family and relatives of current players from reading & posting Scoop?  Maybe an IP block or something?  Honestly, it's for their own good.

Seriously, an anonymous internet fan board is no place for anyone who is or has a personal connection with a player.... unless they have skin so thick that it would make a chubby chaser horny.

Seriously ... no.

This is America, right? Do we ban a senator's father from reading what politcal junkies write on Internet boards?

Please. I like to think Mr. Dawson and all the other moms and dads know what they are getting into the second they click on one of these sites. If not, it would be like clicking on a porn site and being surprised that there are naked people doing all kinds of vile things. User beware.

I'm generally a respectful, non-knee-jerk kind of guy. But even if I weren't, the possibility that my words might be seen by a relative or friend of a player -- or the player himself -- doesn't enter my mind one iota.

I side with freedom of speech over barring folks for their own protection.

Mr. Dawson, I have two important questions for you.

* What's your favorite walleye bait, crawlers or fatheads?

* Has John taken you to Real Chili yet?

One piece of advice if you are going to read this board, tell the Ners gang to get off your side!  You won't regret it!

Best of luck to John!

I am one of the vocal supporters of Derrick continuing to start because I trust Buzz in his judgment that he gives us the best chance to win now.

Still, I am thrilled that John is at MU, would never consider him a waste, and am excited to watch him develop these next 3+ seasons.

Glad Dawson's on the team, glad he enjoys it here, glad he loves Buzz. I have no doubt he will continue to contribute positively this season and grow into a very important player for MU down the road.

Please Mr. Dawson (or any other parent of a player), for your sanity's sake DO NOT READ THIS OR ANY OTHER BAORD. I hope the players don't either. I know it would be hard not to, but it's way better if you just don't, especially if/when the team is struggling. Just my 2 cents.

But this isn't America... it's the Internet.  And if highly respected countries like China can filter the Internet for their citizens' protection, why can't Scoop?  After all, Scoop is a dictatorship, not a democracy.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

What I don't understand here, is .. beyond the natural freshmanocity of Dawson, Scoop has been pretty complimentary to him .. easily a majority of the board wants to see him play MORE.

But, welcome to Scoop, Mr. Dawson.

Rev. Dawson.  Job well done to you.  Keep up the good work.  Good kid, nice game, and great attitude.  Can't wait to see him as an upperclassman and am going to enjoy watching him grow.

I think he is referring to pre season. Let's face it. Rev Dawson is right. Many of us including ,myself thought he was an insurance plan for Duane Wilson. Perhaps it was his 3 star rating that made me skeptical of him as everyone else was a 4 star in the class. The point is that the majority of the board had similar feelings but it doesn not matter as we all know that Dawson is a gamer and a key piece going forward

I liked what I saw on his highlight tapes.   I thought he was smooth and would eventually be a contributor.

Me Dawson:

I have read this board every day since it began. Every day, except vacations outside US. And I have never read anyone calling John a waste. Maybe I missed the one moron, but I assure you that person got ripped apart by us real fans.

Fans are fickle and reactionary, please don't take us all too seriously. We really deserve to.

Nice to have you on the board.  I'm a big fan of John and hope that he starts to get more minutes over Jake.  He's certainly earned it!

See, that's the thing I was writing about.  The thread starts as if Scoop had some how slighted Dawson.

I think he was treated like all freshmen .. with high hopes.   It was pretty legit to think Dawson was going to be 3rd off the bench in the PG position, with a highly touted Wilson ahead of him.

The Indiana board is startin' to get it right. Rippin' Crean a new one for bein' Clappy the Clown.

Wow, slip a Crean post in there that did not derail the thread. How unusual.
