I realize, that even if the NCAA looks into the fake classes again, that nothing will come of it since it is UNC. I doubt UNC will hand over a bunch of info implicating itself either.

But at least there will be a new round of info and disclosures and bad press due to some journalists looking into this again.

You should be ashamed impugning the good integrity of UNC.

Like Ohio State, Alabama, Kentucky, USC, Auburn, Miami, etc., they have always been transparent and above board.

Thing is, USC has paid a price....as has Miami, Ohio State, etc.  I guess I'm not sure why people are saying nothing will happen to UNC since it's UNC.  People said that locally here at USC and they definitely got knocked down several pegs as a result.  Penn State got knocked down.  Plenty of big time programs have been hit hard in the last decade.

For the alleged behavior, I'd expect some very, very serious consequences.  This goes directly to the point of college and being a student-athlete and (if true) represents corruption at an institutional level for  a long long time.  But because it's UNC, I know that won't happen.  If it was UWM what would the NCAA do with a situation like this?

Funny how many years the NCAA ignored this, but when Northwestern football players talk about starting a union, they responds within hours.

I don't think they are comparable.   One is a policy component, the other has to do with an investigative process, gathering evidence, weighing evidence, etc.  Just because someone says something is happening at a university doesn't mean it is happening....that takes time, resources to prove or disprove.  Responding to Northwestern's unionization fantasy would be expected by all parties, because it is part of policy and governance.

You're right to an extent, but I think it might be more about what could interrupt the flow of cash.

forgetful

Personally, what went on at UNC is inexcusable.  I think they should see a 2-year death sentence.  No competing in Football or Basketball for 2-years period.  Existing athletes and committed athletes can transfer with no consequences.

A message needs to be sent.  UNC went above and beyond a violation.
