Skatastrophy

Duane Wilson is transferring next season. It's a rumor, but I believe it.

Buzz's quote the other day that Diane could play but he decided to redshirt was the final nail in the coffin for me.

I hope I'm wrong.

Goose

Hope you are wrong as well. One question, why not transfer in December and play 2nd semester next season?

I haven't heard any rumors like this. Care to share a source?

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

So he sits another season if he transfers.

Why didn't he transfer three weeks ago, then he could have been eligible in December?

We have to stop this parlor game of guessing who is going to transfer.  With this post, I think we have at least one thread on every non-senior transferring.

Skatastrophy

I believe that with a medical hardship waiver he won't have to sit out.

murara1994

Luke Fischer said Duane was one of the first to reach out and welcome him to the team.  Doesn't sound like a guy who wants to transfer to me at all.

The kid wears the uni in the bench every have and jacks around with the other freshman prior to tip.

I'm not seeing it, IMO.

Nah...don't think he's going anywhere.

Other than being able to brag about this, with an "I called it!", what is the point of this post?

Maybe just keep this one to yourself?

I'd believe JJJ before I'd believe Duane.

Hell, I'd believe Buzz is going to SMU before ... oh wait ...

He dresses and is eligible to play so he hasn't been granted that yet.  That would be granted this summer long after he would make the decision to transfer.

He would have to transfer first and hope he would have the waiver second.  If he left, all MU has to do is say he sat because he is no good, no waiver and he sits another year.

Message boards are rumor mills. Nobody else in the world cares about the rumblings I'm hearing from the athletic department.

It's a rumor, not just a gut feeling. That's the value.

I think I've proven by now that I don't frequently post unsubstantiated conjecture that I dreamed up on my own.

I'm just hoping the rumor mill is broken on this one.

Sorry about the Diane thing. Swype doesn't play nice with Duane's name :)

MU82

I'm calling it now, too:

Between now and the end of the season, at least a dozen Scoopers will start threads speculating wildly that Duane, JJJ, Deonte and/or STJ will transfer.

Did I say a dozen? I'd probably take the "over" on that prediction!

Well anything is possible, but logically you would not redshirt if you wre going to transfer. You would not dressing for games to be a part of the team, if you were planning on transferring.

Hope he's transferrin' from off guard to point guard.

Absolutely nothing can be gained. I do not know why people get their panties in a bunch about transfers anyway. Player turnover is the nature of college basketball. When one player leaves it opens the door for the next.

Not buying this either, but the kid has not said anything all year, and everybody's boy Buzz has been less than transparent about it. Hopefully not true. Ballistics will fly if true.

Boo. I was hoping for a bold prediction of a big win today. Instead you gotta bring me down. Double boo.

Thinking about this a little more, I'm wondering if maybe we're reading too much into it. Once Duane was healed, he was always eligible to play. His decision was his alone, but you know Buzz guided it. Perhaps watching STJr struggle to get back into playing shape was enough to put him over the edge. No sense in burning a year to not see the court.

I don't know what your other info is, so that might make me rethink, but his "deciding" to redshirt doesn't seem like a big deal to me...
