Based off this I think we can rule out Buzz leaving for the NBA ever.  He didn't seem to like the concept of tanking or anything.
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

I wouldn't want to read an autobiography by Buzz.  Can you imagine 600 pages of Buzz stream of conciousness, with commas and periods thrown in at random, irregular intervals?  I'd definitely be up for a biography, though.

Canadian Dimes could co-write it, that was his writing style too.

Also Buzz said he was talking to Doug Collins recently.  Later he said he was talking to "a coach" about the kind of men he gets along with (those that have overcome adversity).

Let me guess here.  Tuesday night Buzz was at the St. Rita game to see Charles Matthews.  Also at the game were Tom Izzo, Chris Collins and Doug Collins.  This is where he had his conversation with Doug Collins.  Was "a coach" Tom Izzo?

Sounds like the coaches go to be seen by the player but really spend much of the time in deep conservation with each other.

Music to my ears.

Or my eyes... or whatever, because you probably understand what I'm saying anyway without the need for me to channel my inner Dennis Miller as though I was some aural wizard trying to pile drive a three-headed dragon whilst my ever-so-more-duly-qualified tag team partner, Beowulf, munches on his value sized popcorn he scored from the kid sitting ringside wearing a Van Alstyne Elementary Middle School t-shirt.  And thus Brent Williams was inspired to become a slayer of dragons, and never ate popcorn again.

Consider this my hat in the ring for the ghostwriting job.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Agree.  The whole balancing idea has little value to begin with.  Just when you manage to do it for to get little more than making it look cute - Jenga.  Just avoid pulling a Norm Roberts and having 10 in one class and it's all good.
there was a piece on (cbs i think) before the cuse/unc game last week, and boehiem talked about how he's been competitive year in and your out...said he really learned you had to try to recruit so that you would have two guys from each class that would be around as seniors...said they needed to be really good players, just not good enough to go pro early.  nothing earth shattering, but it was interesting to hear him talk about it, and feel like he could plan on a kids progression that far in advance.

Hardly anybody famous actually writes his/her autobiography. Hell, some have claimed to have been misquoted or misrepresented in their own autobiography, most famously Charles Barkley.

One thing I think we're forgetting here is that Luke's parents are footing the bill for this semester as Buzz confirmed he had zero available schollys. I gather this was a well discussed family decision about the right fit going forward.  I sincerely hope he remains happy.  Early indications from his presser is that he feels right at home.  And it really seems that he's more than prepared to work hard this next year.  Buzz said something about practice, weights, and then an individual workout for Luke both Monday and Wednesday.

Thanks for this info, glow.

I actually am more excited to get Luke here now that I know he wanted to attend and play for Marquette so badly that his parents were willing to foot the bill. He had many options that would not have required him to pay a cent, but he chose the Warriors.

Welcome home, kid!

I doubt that any of the schools being considered had a scholarship to give (nobody banks one for a mid-season transfer), so it's likely that his family knew they were going to be footing a semester's tuition when Luke made the transfer decision.

Possibly.  But he did say that in the end he considered us, Green Bay and Creighton and that all were schools that had recruited him in HS.  I'm anticipating Luke giving us essentially three seasons of outstanding work in the high post, then graduating with his class in '17, and heading to the NBA draft.

Buzz told Cottingham, Broeker, Fr. Wild that there would always be transfers.     He never told Larry or Father Pilarz?!?    Hmmmmm.

Good style comparison. Dennis Miller - except Buzz would be interesting and relevant.

Transfers are an epidemic.  Very frustrating to Buzz, as he not only has to pay attention to recruits, but to who wants to transfer.   Got two calls on Wednesday from people who wanted to know if he had any schollies available for more high-major transfers.
Steve is the entire sophomore class and that is not healthy.
Buzz likes the kids who have overcome something.   Relates to them better.   (I think that this explains his affinity for and ability to get a lot from JUCO's)
He is really impressed with Luke's previous coaching (HS, AAU, and Crean) and his hunger to get better.   It will benefit him to play against Oxtule this spring and Satchel in the fall.
If Otule doesn't blow out his knee, Durley would have come to MU and probably been playing this year after red-shirting his freshman year.
Jake probably shouldn't be playing as much as he is.
