With the W over SJU tonight Depaul won back to back for the first time time since January of 2008.  It's gonna be a tough game down at the allstate this year.
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

It won't be exactly be a home game for DePaul.  The last time we played at the Allstate, there were far more Marquette fans than DePaul Fans.
Have some patience, FFS.

That's when we were a good team.

Maybe I'll fly Southwest down to Midway, hopin' they land at O'Hare by mistake.

I have been on record saying that Purnell should be on the hot seat.  However, after seeing tonight's game, I think now that Lavin's seat should be getting plenty warm.

They're now 0-4 in Big East play, with the only big win against Georgia Tech.

Oh man you're right and after that Crean left should we be worried?!

Texas Western

We beat DePaul so that is a good thing. Keeps the league stronger.

The proper title to this thread:

Hell freezes over.

BTW, cool that ND just lost their third in a row, eh?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

And yet beat Duke and took OSU to the wire, and played Iowa tough.  Yet needed OT to beat Canisus, lost to North Dakota St, and aforementioned 3 straight losses.  College basketball is weird this year, per usual.

My dad went to Canisus and UofDetroit...both have had bright spots over last 40 years. Great thing about College bball....there's always great stories somewhere in the nation.

As for Big East...Villanova and Creighton for sure...but I have no idea how the rest will shake out. Everyone is surprising me. MU must get to 11-7 with a win in the BE tourny. 20 wins is a must. I just don't know.

Now in OT at home against Providence...... who I also don't know what to make of after they beat Georgetown.

I agree. Even 20 may not get us in depending on who wins out in their conference tournaments.

I looked at the AAC top 5 teams and the BE top 5 teams, and it looks like the Old BE.

Only two ranked BE teams (Nova and Creighton) and three ranked AAC teams (UC, Louisville, Memphis).
Strangely, two teams you'd think would be more competitive in their new Leagues are struggling at 0-5: Butler (BE) and Temple (AAC).

True, but Butler and Temple both got gutted by graduation and injuries. They will be back in a year or two

At the same time I dont think Creighton will be nearly as good in the next few years.

Definitely not. They lose four starters in Manigat, Gibbs, Wragge, and McDermmott. They will be terrible next year

And everyone in Omaha knows it which made the atmosphere of that New Year's Eve game pretty damn good. One of the biggest celebration vibes I've ever been a part of and their a capella rendition of Sweet Caroline was awesome.

Jays fans get they have something special, but the beat will drop next year, and they'll enjoy the hell out of this ride.
