When Derrick Wilson leaves we will get back on track...he is absolutely horrendous and I put most of the blame on him for this season. Actually I should put it on Buzz because he is in charge of this mess we have going on.

I think we should quit looking for scape goats.  CrackedSidewalks always did a great analysis on how good Marquette should be. They were reasonably accurate.  We should ask those folks how good they feel Marquette will be in future years.

Stop whining.   Good teams aren't a birthright.   Ask the cubs, lions, brewers, northwestern fans.
Yup--ask Duke, UNC, Ky., Louisville, Patriots fans.

It's a message board...this team is not good. Are people supposed to be happy?

tower912

Who's happy?   But abandoning the team for multiple years?   Entitled whining at its worst.

The facts are the frontcourt is all gone and there isn't a proven guard set to return in 2014-15.  Two poor recruiting years (current juniors and sophomores) will take a while to overcome.

I do hold season tickets, but I share with someone who's more fickle. He's not going to pay good money to watch average basketball against non-high profile teams.

Marquette will be competitive next year (i.e. at least make the Dance).  This year the jury is still out on this team but, barring major defections or injuries, I am confident stating that next year we will make the Dance.

Big Papi

As a season ticket holder, I suggest you give up your season tickets since you're obviously a "what have you done for me lately" type of fan.  I don't even know why you are even asking this question.

I on the other hand will continue to support Marquette by being a season ticket holder through thick and thin.

UNC, Kentucky, and Louisville have all missed the tournament during our active ncaa tournament streak. And we aren't Duke

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Not the point. Which pedigree would you want MU--or those.

Well, since I AM a MU fan, I will take MU.  If I wanted to root for Kentucky's pedigree, I would.

Your second sentence helps make up for your silly first sentence. It isn't Derrick's fault that he is who he is. Derrick isn't the one who recruited Derrick, starts Derrick or plays Derrick 30-35 minutes.

+1

Plus while I recognize not everyone on this board is an alum, if you are a graduate of the university you should support it regardless of performance on the court.

I also recognize its a big investment, and may be prohibitively expensive for everyone to buy season tickets. That's fine. But missing one NCAA tournament in 8 years is not a good reason.

Well it is great we are now projecting next year. Most have given up on this year.

I would agree with that.  As I wrote before .. a down season isn't the big issue .. (although it is for the remaining 9 games..) .. It's the reality that the product in the building has taken a long-term hit.  For any season ticket holder these past decade(s), you suffer cupcakes to get to the steak, which meant a host of hall of fame coaches that brought their teams to play you, UConn, Louisville, Syracuse, not to mention other great games like Pitt and even Cincy and West Virginia.
