I'm looking for a reason to be optimistic about the future. Unfortunately,  losing your entire frontcourt next year, and the weak guard play give me hesitation.  Any reason to re-up for season ticket for 2014-15? Help...

Guard play will be infinitely better next year. Not even close.

1) To keep the B&G points for better years.

2) You're a Warrior fan, as as much as you want to, you can't quit them.

3) To win a frozen pizza to see if it's really as bad as every says.

Can I ask why you believe that?  True Jake will be gone replaced by some combination of JaJuan  and Mayo, which should be an improvement.  But Derrick will still be the starting point guard and Mayo will still most likely be here.  Buzz has shown that he favors experience to talent so a starting back court of Derrick and Todd seems likely.....not sure that's an improvement.....

If for no other reason than we can play 5 on 5 when Duane Wilson is on the floor. We don't know how good Duane will be - but we do know he is a good shooter so the defense will have to guard the PG.

Of course if Derrick is on the floor for 30+ minutes a game - nevermind

madtownwarrior

I see the board now justifying why a senior can not be replaced by a redshirt freshman who has not played a game yet...

It's not that it is of bad quality. Or that it is made from wheat. The proper release technique forgives all of these sins. Squat to purge fully!

If you have more B&G points than I do, then the sky is falling and there's no reason to re-up.

If you have fewer points, you should re-up to watch JJJ, Deonte, Duane and the new kids develop.

Even in the Deane/Crean days, I always felt good about the future.  But for the Frosh, its rather discouraging this year.  Hopefully my ticket partner doesnt bail considering the revised Big East and weak roster. The sun will allegedly rise tomorrow!

The problem as Insee it is his Freshman give Buzz the best opportunity to score.  Conversely, they give Buzz the greatest opportunity to be scored upon.  This season is killing me, but every season is different and thus I will subscribe to the "future is bright" train of thought.

Listen, I live in SEC country and barely catch a game every 2-3 years.  I would love to be able to catch regular games.  Besides that, I might curse this team and yell at the TV, but they are still playing with intensity and we need to show them the respect they deserve.  Even with this blowout, no one can say that we gave up.

Wow, not only have some given up on this season but they are already giving up on next season. C'mon man, if you're going to call yourself a Warrior, act like a Warrior

Last night's game proves it: We are gonna suck in 2018-19.

Oh, we might be good again in 2021-22, and it looks like Player/Coach Otule will have a fine squad in 2024-25.

But after last night, it's impossible to say we'll be any good in 2030-31.

Curious how many of you ARE season ticket holders ...

No doubt, it is silly to start thinking MU's program is in the toilet for multiple years coming ..

But .. buying season tickets is an investment (in entertainment) and not a small one, especially in the lower bowl.    My wife and I have had tickets a dozen+ years .. our simple barometer, with kids, we evaluate whether we need a babysitter for each game / or have one of us go and take a friend.   No babysitters for cupcakes.  Babysitters for BE/big games.    This year has been a lot easier on my wallet.

With the new Big East .. the interest level was lower in July, but we could look forward to dominating the Big East.

Now that we're fighting for a chance to be a bubble team .. ouch.

Because Deonte Burton and probably JJJ will be worth the price of admission alone.   seriously, we are well positioned for the future.  This freshman class is turning out to be the most exciting and hopeful part of this season and they are only going to get better.   We also will have roster turnover (I will bet anyone here Mayo is not back next year as an example) and while we enjoy another great recruiting class...a few positive surprises could occur (like transfers in, etc.).

It is turning out to be a transition year after a great 5 year run....it is a surprising and disappointing transition year but every program goes through it....it will be short-lived.

I don't think you can look at season tickets as a one year proposition.  If you tried to "time the market" would last year have been your choice for an undefeated season at home and a Big East championship?  After losing DJO and Jae?  Let's be honest:  We have re-loaded pretty well sine Buzz took over.  For whatever reason the players we were counting on THIS YEAR are not producing.  Obviously we can debate if this is a lack of talent or lack of player development or poor talent evaluation, or even blame some of it on unexpected departures.  Whatever the reason, this team is the anomaly.

But I look at JJJ and DB and I see good things on the horizon, and I am excited about what next year may bring.

There is too much talent returning and too much talent coming in for a multi-year plunge.  How many times have we see talented programs have an off year and then the next year everyone thinks they will not be very good and, surprise surprise, they end up much better the next year?

Still a lot of basketball to play (we are not even half-way through yet), but if this season ends up a disappointment I think we will be much better next year.  The freshmen will be much improved next year.  Duane Wilson returns and will at least garner decent minutes.

Yes we lose a lot of our frontcourt but Buzz has proven he can win without a major post presence.  And you still have Burton, Anderson, Taylor, and some good frosh coming in who can fill some of that void.

We are and probably make a longer drive than 85% who regularly attend.  Wouldn't consider giving them up.  But it will be interesting to see what happens with the season ticket base following a less than successful year.  Our attendance has been on a steady, albeit slow decline for a handful of years now.

Raises hand.

In addition to going through the same thought processes about sitters when our girls were younger, we moved 4 1/2 hours' drive from MKE 15 years ago.  So we have time, gas money, hotels and restaurants as natural adjuncts to every game.  We still have our tickets (about 25 years, with a 4 year gap when we lived in Nashville), and to us, they're worth every penny.

I'm ready to concede this year, but no way feel this will carry over.  Still think we're running a Villanova cycle and are two years behind.  Bad years happen - in 2011-12 Nova was 13-19 (5-13), last year they came around at the end and made the tournament, this year they're the class of the conference.  Watching them tough out a win at Butler last night was incredibly impressive.  They also lost Yarou from last year, basically the only good frontcourt player, but have a talented point (Archie) and switchable (Pinkston) that are more important.  Would worry about not having senior leadership over the next couple years because none of them are good enough to lead more than not having enough bigs.
