You are correct, got his masters while stationed there...glad you were able to recognize him...a very sad event.

I didn't know Anderson but he went to U Dub undergrad. I spend a lot of time on that campus and recognized the photo as the same at a memorial they have for him.

The Command Pilot was a squadron mate of mine from my stint flying Prowlers. Willie McCool was an outstanding officer and one of the very best pilots I have ever seen. In a weird twist, two mutual friends fly commercial for AA and Delta and were each shooting their approach that morning into DFW. They saw the Shuttle re-entry into the atmosphere over east Texas. They weren't aware Willie was skippering the craft.

Willie left behind a beautiful wife, Lani, and 3 sons. He was a very special person who epitomized the Right Stuff.

I have no idea what you are talking about, but the Habush Habush reference brings back memories of old.

Does Stubby Heiser still exist out there in Milwaukee?   Can you save big money at Menards?

I miss some of those Milwaukee based commercials.

You can indeed still save money at Menards, however I have no clue what a Stubby Heiser is.

Heiser Ford has gone mainstream no more stubby Heiser.  Heiser moved from its east side location to a normal size car dealer lot on Silver Spring and Silver Spring maybe 8 years ago, old location is now a whole foods and offices for St. Mary's.  That old location was an odd spot for a car dealership.

Silver Spring and Silver Spring? How can the same street intersect itself? It must be at the nexus of the universe!

It was a bad joke--I meant that he was such a common player that people would recognize him more from the commercials rather than being on the bucks.

On second thought, i dont it was benjamin, i think its armon gilliam that i am thinking of

Let's not forget perhaps the most famous Creighton basketball player of all:

Kevin Ross, the guy who saidhe was still illiterate after four years at Creighton.

Menards is in like 15 states now - as far West as Casper Wyoming and as far South as Louisville.  Unfortunately, the famous white-haired "MENARDS!" guy is now dead.

I don't know if Stubby Heiser is still around, but I believe Ernie Von Schledorn is still alive.  Who do you know wants to buy a car?

Having grown up in Menomonee Falls, I can vouch for the fact that it was pretty common to refer to him as "Dirty Ernie."

Heiser Ford, Man.

Not a commercial, but remember the old road rage saying as somebody ran a stop sign or cut you off in traffic:
" Where the hell did you get your drivers license--Arlan's?"
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind.

For whatever reason I can still hear that car dealership's jingle:

Ernie von Schleidorn
Main Street in Menomonee Falls

Too funny. He had some sort of Nordic/Germanic accent. I have no reason whatsoever for remembering any of that.

Wow, from just looking at the picture I thought Lionel Richie played for Creighton, then I read the caption.

"Maybe they know the Commodores.."
