I find it hilarious that you see internet message board bickering, and think "reality TV"...because it seems to imply that you think reality TV is based on real-life stuff.  Now THAT I find comical....

I was going to bump it to 91% for the name drop, but I like your perspective, too.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Scoop seems every bit as active, if not more so than ever.  I can name a few MU sites that are absolute graveyards the last few years.

By number of posts, and users online yes...

Nov 2006: 3526 posts, 126 (max simultaneous) users
Nov 2007: 3870 posts, 135 users
Nov 2008: 4282 posts, 325 users
Nov 2009: 5896 posts, 333 users
Nov 2010: 8656 posts, 404 users
Nov 2011: 6276 posts, 400 users
Nov 2012: 8810 posts, 509 users
Nov 2013: 10892 posts, 687 users

It appears we had a blip in 2011, but were back on track and this will still be a record year for our lil 'ol server.  (of note, on Dec 1, we had a new record of 1149 users online simultaneously).

So perhaps what some perceive as the "worst year" of MUScoop ever, is really that they liked it better with a smaller crowd, and there's more noise now.

I have a little trouble with this one IMO.  No coaching staff knows it all, plus there are many ways to skin the cat.  Comes with the territory when you are a coach or a high profile decisonmaker, you will get second guessed.  You said it well that people should and can have those viewpoints, which is better than some who get very angry when people have those viewpoints as if they simply aren't allowed.   My only quibble is the last line about it being arrogant.  Certainly can be arrogant, but doesn't have to be either..

That's fair. I didn't mean to give the image that if you disagree with coach you are arrogant. I disagree with him all the time, I just recognize that he has a lot more expertise in this area. Its specifically those who choose to express their disagreement by saying that Buzz needs to do something or claim to know more than the coach that I find arrogant

Ok, your right, I'm wrong, scoop is better than ever.

In fact let's celebrate scoop's success by starting another four threads that Jake should not be a starter, and let's do it before the Samford game!!

Was 2011 the year Chicos was banned?   ;D  Pretty sure it was 2012, but couldn't resist a little Xmas Eve levity, on behalf of our most active Scoop Poster who clocks in 16,494 posts!  Life at DirecTV must be pretty cush!

I was hoping this thread was about a long lost volume to Edward Gibbon's magnum opus that we read in Fr. J.P. Donnelly, SJ's Roman

I've been here for five years and this is by far the worse season on scoop ever.  Yes most of the comments here (or any message board) are by people that don't know what they are talking about, but in past seasons they used to be interspersed with knowledgeable commentators.  Today the only reasonable/knowledgeable comments come from Paint Touches and the occasional post, which is getting impossible to find.  The rest of the caterwauling about Jake Thomas hitting threes or benching Derick Wilson is just embarrassing.

How to fix it?  I might suggest that the posters consider making everyone put their name and email in the profile.  It's a lot harder to make idiotic comments when everyone knows who you are.

The beginning of the end was when BMA725 left.

Bad posts happen every year, and you're just upset because you've had to read the same one three times.

I have posted regularly in the past years (with different names) but I can barely even read this board now. Granted, I'm killing some time on christmas reading all the negativity and bull$hit you crazy "fans" post, but it has gone too far.

I used to love coming on this site, but now I stay far away.

I'll see all the REAL fans at the Bradley Center on Saturday.

Merry Xmas ya filthy frickin animals.

Go MARQUETTE!

If you look closely, these numbers are just for the months of November in each year. Probably picked because it's the most "equal" month with the fewest outside factors (such as the strength of MU's team in a given year) due to it being at the beginning of the season.

Chicos numbers are for the entire time he's been here,  which include all 12 months of the year

Total posts metrics are on the front page of the forum. We are over 537,000 all time

All generally correct.  That would have been an excellent reason to choose November, but I really picked it because it was the last complete month that I had stats for 2013.

And if folks like site statistics, they're availabe to all registered users here...http://www.muscoop.com/index.php?action=stats

No .. you've got the math wrong.  52k posts are only for 7 years of Novembers.  CBB's 16k is for 7 years total.
