They had Coach K, Roy Williams and Boeheim talk about how great the ACC will be....how it will eventually be the best conference in history once UL joins. I really dont like that conference. Public enemy #1.

Boeheim: "We sold out UNC and Duke faster than we EVER sold out GTown or UConn."

Those three coaches wont be around in 5 years. Then what?

The unspoken Big East dig was not very respectful of the conference who made Coach Boeheim who he is.  I still think he's a great coach but what he said was not cool.

I would agree that the Big East made Jim Boehiem a whiny douche.

That's jst another reasom why the ACC sucks and will forever be full of suckitude.

I'm happy for Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame and Louisville, in that they all found a new home in the ACC.  However, West Virginia struggled in the Big 12 struggled mightily last year.  Rutgers will get owned in the Big 10 next year.  Miami, Virginia Tech and Boston College all have yet to duplicate any kind of success they had (in football or basketball) in the Big East since joining the ACC 10 years ago.

I think Pittsburgh and Notre Dame will really struggle in the ACC.  Syracuse and Louisville will all be title contenders as long as Pitino and Boeheim are leading their respective programs - who knows how much longer they continue coaching.  And who knows how long Coach K and Roy Williams will be coaching.

I'm still so excited and thrilled about our "new" conference.  The Big East has, at the moment, 10 like-minded institutions with a clear emphasis towards elite basketball, all with campuses located in big-market urban cities.  The separation was best for everyone.  The future is bright for the Big East and its members.

Well, the ACC will be the best conference ever once Louisville joins.

Hate it if you want, but that won't stop it from being great.

And with their new exit fee, there shouldn't be many changes for a long time.

Unfortunately, you are absolutely correct. No doubt about it.

We'll see what happens, but the reason the Big East was such a great conference for those years was its great depth from 1-10. There 8 or so ACC teams that really need to pick it up.

I'm not sure that's true.  It all depends on the Maryland ruling.  The ACC's current exit fee/relinquishment of TV rights agreement may not hold any water in court.

The BEast has the record for most teams invited to the tourney in a year I believe 10 or 11. That will be hard for the new ACC to match even with looyville.

It has been upheld on appeal in the North Carolina courts.  It will likely now be decided at the federal level.  I think Maryland is pretty much f*cked.

In some years the ACC had been capable of getting 6 or 7 teams in the tournament.  Add in Syracuse, Louisville, Pitt & Notre Dame--teams that routinely made the tournament in the Big East--and that's 10 or 11 teams right there.   Even in years they only had four teams, add four more from the Big East, and that's 8 regularly.

Factor in the improved conference SOS and you'll see more of their 9-7 and .500 teams will make the tournament, just as what happened in the BE in 2011-13. There's a chance that they could exceed our 11-team record from 2011.  Not regularly, but the opportunity is there.

And when K. or P. or NC's RW. decides to retire, one of the ACC schools will place the coaching mantle on Buzz Williams and his contemporaries to continue the successful tradition.  That's the way the system works, right?
