A grown man in a replica basketball jersey complete with t-shirt under it. If you don't understand the problem, I can't help you.

Yup. +1.

You think the guy who started this thread thought it would get to 2 pages? And that's WITHOUT a mention of Tom Crean. Ooops, until now.

I am making the trip to MKE for that game and am starting to put serious thought into my wardrobe for that day.  Last year I went with the yellow throwback tee over white long-sleeves and was one section over from the students.  I kind of felt like a wannabe student (or at least making it too obvious).

The rugby shirt had its heyday around 1993 and was kept alive by the band for far too long.  I do find that the Champion sweatshirt over the turtleneck with khakis and loafers is embarrasingly common too - sometimes paired with a very stiff looking blue and gold "College of Engineering" baseball cap.  Just keep in mind that this game will be nationally televised and people all over will say that people in Wisconsin haven't updated their wardrobe in 20 years, which is somewhat true.

I love my royal blue "Warriors" t-shirt with the Indian head, not because I really care about the name but I just think it's cool.  My wife says its getting a bit snug but I don't care.

A little help for you all:

If you are over 40 - Navy sport coat, white shirt, yellow vest, khakis, and casual allen-edmonds.
If you are under 23 - 40 - Marquette sweatshirt and jeans.
If you are 18 - 22 - It does not matter, probably something gold.
If you are 17 and under - Marquette basketball jersey or t-shirt.

You could go rogue and wear your t-neck with some jeans (than have been ironed).

Turtleneck is a no-go for any and all situations. In fact, the only worse than a grown man wearing a jersey with a t-shirt under it is a grown man wearing a jersey with a turtleneck under it.

My daughter wears them every game.  She was worried that she was 'under dressed' when she got invited up to a particular skybox for halftime lunch at a game last year.  "Honey, that's what you're supposed to wear!"

I have worn the same outfit since ive been a freshman. Havent seen them lose at home yet. (I missed the Vandy game so im convinced it was because I wasnt there.) Navy blue jersey, gold shorts (both authentic) and blue and gold striped knee high socks. Im way to superstitious now to change it up.

I wear jerseys as well, on occasion. Is there some unwritten law that states I can't wear jerseys that I paid good $ for?

Adult rules

Hockey sweater is ok at game only

Football jersey ok at game only

Baseball jersey semi ok...depends...game only

Basketball jersey never ok....anywhere

Football jersey ok at game, only if you're a meathead.

Baseball jersey semi ok...depends...game only never

Basketball jersey never ok....anywhere

I see no problem with repping your team with a jersey. As everyday wear? No, but if you are watching the game or attending, absolutely. Sorry if that's a little too blue collar for y'all

That's baloney/bologna.

I think the winters have gotten to your heads or something.

Basketball jerseys are ALWAYS acceptable (preferably with a t-shirt underneath) at games.

As long as it is spelled correctly (Front and Back):
SS Marquette
