in Omaha soldout in 3 minutes.  The cheapest seat right now on stubhub is 95 bucks.  Creighton also just went over 15000 season tickets sold for this season including buyers from over 25 different states.

I think we are underestimating this potential rivalry.  Two rabid fan bases usually makes for a good rivalry.

Given their attendance record over the last several years, I really hope no one was underestimating their fanbase.

Yep, I didn't get ticketmaster tickets so I overpaid for Row 15. That'll show 'em!

Seems to me that we may be the new Louisville/Syracuse of the Big East in terms of everybody wants a piece of us.

Our group has overnight accomodations and no tickets.  Expected to get tickets for all 12 in three families.  Maybe only adult males will be able to go, if that.

Unfortunately, my friend's dad in Omaha, didn't get to the ticket window until 10:10.

Who said all Nebraskan's care about is Cornhusker football?

Creighton Basketball is winter's version of Nebraska Football.  Best of luck on your search.

I expect the @ Creighton game to be a real tough challenge.  First Big East game for them, I believe.  Remember what we did to UConn at the BC for our first Big East game?

The fans will be pumped, and our guys better be ready for a crazy, crazy atmosphere.  If we can pull out a W there, I will be surprised and it will tell us something about our team.

I think this will be the toughest road atmosphere we face all year... in our first Big East game of the year. Add in that it is on December 31st at 9:00 PM and that will be one crazy game!!  A December 31 at 9PM game already has he makings of a crazy crowd on its own.

I will have to find a bar to watch this one on FS1.

I live in Omaha and there is a buzz about this game for sure. Marquette needs to win this game by no less than 40 points.

I was upset we didn't get to have this game in Milwaukee, but I really understand what the league was thinking on this one; the country already knows about Marquette, so have the game in Omaha to try and get as many new eyeballs on Creighton as possible.

Best case scenario Creighton and Marq meet in the non-conf tourney and the game is an instant classic type of thing (buzzer beater ala Butler), and we are both top 20 entering the NYE game.  Could really set the league off right.

League was thinking anything, since the Bradley Center is booked for two show of the Globetrotters on NYE.

Not to mention that the combination of their average attendance in the past and the first official league game would make it a gimme sell out.

Long time CU season ticket holder here.  Looking forward to the season, especially the conference opener.  I have a client in Madison so trying to coordinate a trip at the right time!

I have 8 tickets together in section 227 I am looking to sell as a block.  Send me a message if interested.

P.S.  Not a scalper.  I have dinner that night at a 5-star restaurant, and a hotel room for after the party, and am looking to break even!   :)

I am really looking forward to spending the day watching all the Big East openers on TV. Having the game in Milwaukee would have interfered with being able to watch all the other games. Especially, since I have an hour ride from Sheboygan and my wife would probably want me to take her out to eat, which would be even more TV time lost.

Or explain to her the dangers of driving on new years eve and the poor quality of service and food on new years eve.  Better off staying in on new years eve and going out for dinner the night before.  Seriously, my wife and I avoid eating out on new years eve, day and valentines day.  Poor service and poor food, plus the push to turn over tables is most intense.

The buzz in Omaha has been crazy, We've already sold out 9 of our 17 home games and might even sell out our exhibition game tonight. I couldn't believe how quickly tickets sold out but with 15046 season tickets holders there were not much to sell. This will easily be the hottest ticket that I can imagine Creighton ever having. I have two season tickets that I'm not going to give up unless its for a crazy amount. I grew up in Milwaukee as a Marquette fan and my allegiances have changed since but I've always wanted the two teams to play. I got lucky with the quick cash opportunity and got tickets when they went on sale. I turned them around right away on Stubhub and they were gone within 30 minutes. Going to be a crazy atmosphere for that game.

This one is going to be a battle...both on the court and in the Sultan household.  The wife always wants to "do something" on NYE, and I doubt that "doing something" is going to include watching this game.

Maybe she'll catch the flu.

Or a accidental elbow to the right eye, just hard enough not to be able to cover up with concealer, if you get my drift.

This works.  However, the second time my wife tried it, I did not let her get away with it.
