The Sultan of Silly

Found it to be the most comprehensive on his thought process of why he decided to declare.

More power to him. Guy is chasing his dream and I hope he realizes it.

Great find and good luck to Vander.  Loved hearing the "NBA teams are looking for guys from MU" line.  I think this alley-oop was posted elsewhere on scoop, but worth repeating here:

Best of luck to him. Can't wait to see him tearing it up in Philly

Loved that line. And the part about the Marquette brand established by Buzz's guys in the NBA. And the part about Buzz backing him 100%. Vander's game (pluses and minuses) was pretty well known by the scouts. Anything short of him becoming a really good, consistent 3 point shooter wasn't likely to change his NBA prospects. Good luck to him.

No chance Buzz backed Vander, knowing Vander would be making more than him in a year.  Buzz said as much himself in his heated argument seen by the team, coaches, trainers, etc. in the weight room after the season ended.

I like Blue. I loved him here. I wish him nothing but the best, I really do. I'm happy to see MU represented well in the NBA.

But that interview was really weak in my opinion. He said what he needed to, but repeated himself a lot, stuttered, stammered, and didn't sound professional. It seemed more like he was talking to a good friend than a media member. I know that it was only Draft Express and the "play does the talking", but I think showing that a player is a strong interviewer can't be a bad thing.

Aughnanure

More power to him.

I guess I just have the problem with him having the opinion that he had nothing else to accomplish in college. I know he had a great year, but it wasn't like he set the ceiling too high to eclipse. 14 pts a game, 2nd team Big East? If anything, I think he left a lot to accomplish individually and as a team.

Have you never seen a Vander interview before?  This was one of his better ones.
Have some patience, FFS.

Completely agree, that was about the best I've seen Vander in an interview.

Thanks for posting Sultan
