Is this the same dude who went to Princeton and played in the Association with the Clippers, Sonics, and Bucks?

MU set at SG for a few years now. Mayo/Johnson/Hill next year, and Johnson/Hill after that.  With the Wilson(s) and Dawson for more years at PG, pretty nice situation.

brewcity77

Yes. Same guy. Because when players hit 60 years old, they can change their name and reset their NCAA eligibility clock. Hopefully Buzz can also land Will Walton and finally land the 5-star big that willie's been begging for all these years.

Darn that new conference limiting MU's ability to recruit.     ;D

We'll be just fine in the recruiting department as long as Buzz is here.  The talent he's bringing in and depth of current roster are remarkable - far better than anything I recall at MU in the 25 years I've been following MU hoops hardcore.

So glad Pilarz is gone too.  And love that Buzz came out to the Country Road's song and did a little two step with it at Madness.  That is epic..and I think speaks to his level of happiness at MU right now.

The BE has had some very good recruiting success this year.

He will at the very least be thinking about him a lot this weekend.

Excellent news, and breaks our streak of commitment-less Madnesses. Excellent get and gives us another legitimate scorer going forward. Really big get.
Not really. He basically had already decided on MU, but was not going to announce before his visit.

Yes really. He committed at Madness. Many reports that Blue made his mind up before Madness and didn't announce until after. Does that not count either? Let's just be happy about this one and hope for another 1-2 within the week.

MU is gonna be back as a school with great guards...last couple years we have had good guards but the frontcourt was better.

DJO? Vander? Maybe not as complete of a backcourt as past years, but still a very good guard each year.

Excellent news. Welcome to the Marquette family Mr. Hill.

Get me some Shayok/Miller and some Stone/Matthews and I will be one satisfied fan.

Scout's Take: Ahmed Hill to Marquette
October, 12, 2013

By Reggie Rankin | ESPN.com

ESPN 100 shooting guard Ahmed Hill (Augusta, Ga./Aquinas) committed to Marquette on Saturday while on his official visit, where he also observed Marquette Madness. He chose the Golden Eagles over Indiana and Missouri.

"I have a great relationship with coach Buzz [Williams] and coach Isaac Chew. I just needed to come and check everything out," said Hill, ranked No. 51 in the Class of 2014.

"My mom (Donna Hill) came with me and she was very comfortable with what the coaches told and showed us," Hill added.

Why he committed: Marquette needed a player in this class who can score. That is what Hill does best, and the Golden Eagles recruited him longer and more consistently than anyone else.

What he brings: Simply put, the No. 2 player in Georgia (only Missouri commit JaKeenan Gant ranks higher) can flat-out score. Hill has already scored more than 2,000 points in his high school career, and his senior season hasn't even begun. Hill can knock down the open 3, and he's even better at scoring off the bounce.

Ahmed Hill
Courtesy of Aljami DurhamAhmed Hill has already scored more than 2,000 points in high school.
"I score best with my mid-range pull-up and by getting all the way to the rim," Hill said.

Hill, at 6-foot-5 and 190 pounds, is a strong and physical guard who also has an excellent motor and toughness. Hill also has the body and athleticism to be a multiple-position defender.

How it fits: Hill will add toughness and competitiveness to the Marquette perimeter in addition to his ability to score in a variety of ways. Hill will be a finisher on the break and a powerful driver/slasher and pull-up jumper specialist with the Marquette set offense. Head coach Buzz Williams will have the luxury of featuring Hill in their scoring actions, creating matchup problems on the wing. Hill can get to the rim and draw fouls and and-ones at end-of-clock situations. Hill will also be successful at defending both wing positions and can even switch onto a point guard at end-of-clock situations.

Who he reminds us of: Hill has some game similarities to former Kentucky and current Boston Celtics shooting guard Keith Bogans. Hill is a strong, tough and physical scorer who will also be a successful defender.

How the class is shaping up: Hill gives the Golden Eagles their third pledge and second ESPN 100 performer, joining versatile, in-state small forward Sandy Cohen (Green Bay, Wis./Seymour) and high productive glue-guy power forward Malek Harris (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg) to give Marquette a class that provides toughness, scoring, rebounding and good overall versatility. Williams and his staff will devote their full attention to getting a post player next, and wide body power forward/center Tory Miller (Lee's Summit, Mo./New Hampton) is at the top of the wish list.
Calvin:  I'm a genius.  But I'm a misunderstood genius.
Hobbes:  What's misunderstood about you?
Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

Wonder if Shayok and Miller both commit that means Harris has been cut loose.
