Meminger remembered with moment of silence on the famed outside courts he learned to play on.

2003 article on Meminger in the NY Times.  He definitely went through a lot of crap.  Didn't realize his son is the newscaster of the same name in NY

DOC RIVERS!!!!!!!  Did Tom Crean write your MU history book?  DOC RIVERS!!!!!!!

What did Doc Rivers do at MU?

Seriously.  Please name it.  Please.  I beg you.

While I agree Dean was much better, Doc was an All-American at MU and is in the top 10 all-time in assists and top 5 all-time in steals, (not to mention his defense).  It's not like you can't name anything he did in his 3 years here.

I've watched the Warriors for 50 years - Dean the Dream is clearly the best point guard to wear the Blue and Gold during that time. Nice guy too. RIP, Dean.

How about one Alfred "Butch" Lee Jr?

Butch was a 2, played alongside two very good point guards in Walton and Boylan - but they weren't in the Dream's class.

Are you on your period or do you just have a stick up your ass? As was stated Doc was an all american and is top ten assists and top 5 steals.

There might be a reason why her twitter profile doesn't mention Marc.....

OK that is funny.  She talks about sending her kid to Indiana...UW Madison retweets someone asking "why not Wisconsin"...and she then says that she couldn't get in.  Oops.

I have one other to share, was at the field house in Madison against Kentucky and Adolp Rupp's segregated team, remember all the confederate flags up there.
The place was nuts, best game I ever saw.  MU took a big lead early, Dean stole the ball and went for a lay-up, back then you could not dunk (Lew Alcdndor rule) Dean had to be 2
ft. over the rim and layed it up soft.  The place erupted, louder than I have ever heard the fieldhouse sound.  Back then Wisconsin did not play to the standards they play now and the
whole crowd was against Kentucky.  It was amazing.

That is correct.  UW-madison very good school, certainly better than MU and IU. No one is denying that.

I found it more interesting that the kid tried to go to UW, ended up going to IU....not MU even though both parents went there.  I actually find it refreshing, kids need to get out from their parents and branch out.  Good for the kids.  Now, if the kid went to MU, that's fine also.

Oh, and UW-madison is a better school than MU and IU.  Not stirring the pot...water is wet and other facts of life.

Chicos is spot on. UW trumps both MU and IU academically. Nothin' to be pissed about, but thems the facts. Kids from Homestead, like Marotta's daughter, will alternatively matriculate at universities such as Minnesota, Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, or Iowa. All are easier to get into than Madison.

I'm sure out nursing and physical therapy students would disagree.  Point is that you can't generalize when we have programs that are better.

Not arguing which is "best".  Don't care.  All are good schools.  He just loves to stir the pot.
