The Real GM post is based on the reporting by the Thunder beat reporter for The Oklahoman. OKC was taking a long look at Buycks for their deep bench depth and Buycks got a better deal backing up Kyle Lowry.

Also, Buycks and Buzz both tweeted about the deal, so that's pretty official.

I'm guessing that at least the 1st year for Toronto is guaranteed - which wouldn't have been the case in OKC. Dwight had a standing lucrative offer to return to France so it's questionable how attractive just an invite (from OKC) would be.

I would in no way ever characterize an invitation to live in Oklahoma City as attractive

Looks like this finally became official. Good to hear. http://blog.raptors.com/press-releases/raptors-sign-guard-dwight-buycks/

Saw on twitter it's $700k guaranteed.  Nice payout for his hard work.  Hopefully he gets that second contract!

That's what I'm talking about.

If he sees any kind of significant playing time this year, he'd probably resign at 1.7 to 3 million per year. My hopes are high for him.

Raptors signed DJ Augustin which is a major bummer to Dwight's chances to be the backup.

I have so missed Cracked Sidewalks and MUScoop with my responsibilities running Breitbart Sports pages, but was thrilled to come across Buycks signing. I know we had a lot of arguments on these pages because I thought he was under rated by many of our fans and I hope everyone appreciates how many great MU players never made the NBA. Dwight was special, I knew he had the potential when I sat court side in Kansas City and watched how physical he was with Duke's backcourt.

However, this is not an "I told you so." I never thought DJO was an NBA player, and I will be just as happy with him proving me wrong.

There are very few players who play through their seniors years at a school and then make the pros and Marquette had been blessed to give us players we could watch that long and then see them in the NBA.

Looking forward to a great new group on the court this year. GO MARQUETTE!
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).
