I should not enjoy watching that as much as I did.  Slow motion practice drills are like watching a butterfly flap it's wings in super slowmo.... mesmerizing ;)

BCHoopster

Watching that video shows me that there is a kid that really wants to improve his craft.  I think of Junior Cadougan, Diener, Henry, and think it will nice to have a point that get
to the hoop and finish easily with a dunk.  If MU is going to have a great year, he is the catalyst.

downtown85

Can't wait to see what he can do at the point!  BTW, can someone explain the benefit of tossing and catching a tennis ball while dribbling? I think I know but I wonder if someone on this board can explain exactly why it is beneficial.

MUWarrior4Life

Love the hard work and dedication the kid has, can't wait till the season starts!!!

Forces them to keep their head all the way up so they can see everything in front of them.  His PT is really going to depend on how well he plays on the other end of the floor.

Coleman

Already my favorite player on this year's team...

BubbaWilliams

I'm very excited about him and Trey J. Its going to be fun watching these guys develop.
"Marquette is so good defensively, they steal your mouth guards."

Coleman

The silver lining in Vander's draft debacle is that these guys will get tons of playing time and we can see them develop starting from year 1. Its very exciting.

That kid is only ranked in the 50's, huh?  Wow.  Love the athleticism.

If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

About half way through, the thought came to me: "I wonder what Jamil is doing?"
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

In all fairness this seems to be a really strong freshmen class across the board.  Probably could've been in the 20s or 30s other years.
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

I assume he is wondering how hard Jamil is working out.

CAGASS24

10-15 more pounds of muscle might be needed ASAP!  I agree that if he can give us 20 minutes of efficient offensive PG/SG minutes he could be a game changer.

Jamil's been to the skills camps sponsored/whatever by both Amare Stoudamire and LeBron James. I presume he's been working on a thing or two.

On his frame that may be too much.  He is in great shape, and more bulk might slow him down.

Excellent news since Jamil will be the key to how far MU goes next year IMHO.

I disagree, if it happens over time then fine but I think he shouldn't hit the gym attempting insane weight gain right away.  Remember we aren't going up against the same people we used to in the BE.

Plus the dexterity required to dribble under control while going in and out of cones while identifying other issues around them.

Todd Smith and Buzz know exactly what they want Duane to do.  I'm sure they are on it.

NersEllenson

Love the ability for Duane to elevate off of 1 foot and dunk - big difference between a 2 foot jumper like Dominic James was, and a 1 foot jumper.  Generally the guys who can jump well off 1 can always do well off 2...but guys that are 2 foot jumpers generally aren't as able to elevate off of 1.  Also great that as a right handed shooter, he can also elevate off his right foot and dunk with his left.  These are intangible athletic skills you can't really coach - and I don't recall an MU player in the recent past that looked this athletic - not since Wade.
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

I'll put him behind Steve Taylor. Unless JJJ lights it up.

That slo-mo of D. Wilson's kick-out after driving in the lane was siiiiiiiiiick.

Man, the guy with the broom is terrible.
