Two schollies left for 2014?

MUfan12

Cohen won't be far behind.

Buzz is bringing in some big-time talent.

Silkk the Shaka

Awesome start to the 2014 class!  Harris is exactly the kind of player that thrives under Buzz, can't wait til he gets to campus

Don't get too full of yourself.
Jerry Meyer called it May 25.

FWIW, Jerry also predicts Sandy Cohen to MU.

I look on twitter and see Duane Wilson and Nick Noskowiak showing this guy love just hours before he commits.  You can't teach that. You also can't beat it. Props to these type of guys Buzz has brought in and continues to bring in.

If Cohen commits, thats a lot of wing players. Get ready for some "Buzz Cuts." Its a great problem to have though.

Harris will play in the Big East

Malek Harris

Malek Harris  By Brian Snow

Marquette started off their 2014 in a big way with the commitment of four-star Malek Harris.

In his time at Marquette Head Coach Buzz Williams has built a culture of toughness. One player who defines the word is 6-foot-7 class of 2014 forward Malek Harris. The Orland Park (Ill) Sandburg product made the decision to pick Marquette on Wednesday.
With his athleticism, toughness, high motor, and ability to get to the rim using the dribble, Harris opened up eyes with his play this spring running with the Illinois Wolves. At the beginning of April it was mostly mid-major interest for Harris, but that all changed in a big way.

Schools such as Marquette, Purdue, Iowa, Creighton, DePaul, Missouri, and Kansas State all offered the versatile combo forward, but at the end of the day he decided to pick the Golden Eagles.

"Officially committed to be a Marquette Golden Eagle," said Harris via twitter.

Also Harris' AAU Coach with the Illinois Wolves, Mike Mullins, confirmed the commitment via text message.

Harris was recently elevated to four-star status and No. 76 in the country. He is the first commitment in the class for Marquette, and gives them the toughness and athleticism they love in their forwards.

I think Harris may ultimately be a player more in the mold of Steve Taylor than a pure wing. In Buzz's system, I expected he'd primarily be a four, in the way Jae and Jamil were/are fours. He'll have to get bigger for that, though.

Sunbelt15

Visited today and commits the same day. Is that a first here?

Thanks.

OK, Harris, then Cohen and then some bigs.  Great start, now they have to finish.

Welcome to MU Malek!  Looks like an ideal fit/Buzz kind of player...the next Jimmy Butler/Jae Crowder...and future 1st round draft pick.   ;D

A very nice addition to MU. Looks like he'll be in Rivals' top 75 when they update their list tomorrow.
