Disheartening.

Out of curiosity, how do the invitees get selected? Is there a certain specific number invited every year?

Edit: weird auto-fills from phone lately

Per Chad Ford

NBA provides 30 teams with a ballot of a few hundred draft eligible players. Each team votes for 60 players & NBA tallies the votes.

In this case, the NBA got additional feedback from teams after the list was released and added Blue, Clyburn and Covingoton!!

Blue listed as a top player not invited.

How the F is Adams from Pittsburgh invited??

Isn't that like the tallest midget thing?

Hey, all it takes is one GM to take a liking to Vander for him to get drafted.  Sounds like maybe more than one team must've wanted to get a better look at him if he was requested to be added to the pre-draft camp.

There's actually a lot of players I;m surprised were left off - Elijah Johnson, Elias Harris, Oriakhi, Snaer, Triche, Boynton.

A little confused. So, does added mean invited? All I understand right now is he is on a best of the rest list--is that all it is or is it a supplemental invitation? Thx.

Awesome, some good news.

I love all the people rushing in to hate when the initial news came out.

I'll rush in on the hate thing but direct it at Triche. I can't stand that guy and am happy that there is zero chance of him getting drafted.

It's there...trust him...the hate is there and it runs very deep.  Only a few can see it, but it is there

Before it manifested itself in rather spiteful criticism.  Now it manifests itself in people never giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Blue has been the most criticized player I have ever seen at MU. Truthfully do not know anyone even close. I talk with anyone who will talk MU ball and aside from my sons have not spoken to five people in person not critical of Blue. To be honest I almost feel sorry for him that a large segment of his university fanbase thinks poorly of him. Obviously off court issues did not help, especially with female fans, but he never got over that with many people.

I do find it very ironic that a fanbase that jumps on other schools whenever given a chance has been so critical of one of their own. Vander Blue is far from our best player ever and further away from being our worst kid ever. I actually am happy he is leaving simply because tired of all the negative stuff about him on here or in conversations with fans.

Chicos... you've been in California way too long.  You don't have to hate someone to disagree with something they said/did.

I'll happily go on record saying I think Vander made a poor decision by declaring early.  That doesn't mean I hate the kid.  That doesn't mean I don't want him to succeed.  It only means that I think he made a poor decision.

So if I say that I don't think Vander made the right decision, I'm "hating" him?

If I wonder why Buzz made a certain substitution, I'm "hating" him?

If I say I believe a championship-caliber team needs a PG who can score, I'm "hating" Derrick Wilson?

Really? We can't just say something about somebody, can't opine, can't analyze without it being "hate"?

Jeesh ... I must really hate my kids because I'm often offering suggestions about how they can be better at things.

I don't know about others' motivation. All I know is that I don't hate Vander Blue or any other athlete. I don't know any of them well enough to hate them. And when I looked at what was said in this particular comment stream, I didn't see hateful things. I guess I'm supposed to be able to read somebody's opinion and instantly determine if there is hate in that person's heart.

The way the word "hate" is thrown around so casually ... that I hate!
