I think Jigglesfest is gone.  They have tried to revive it but have not been successful.  It was the weekend before the week before finals...which would have been this past weekend.

The best party ever back in 1988, down at the domes, MU vans shuttling us there and back... As close to woodstock as I could have ever hoped to get...

Jiggles Fest has been reborn a few years ago by the guys in R Mutt among others.
Usually mid-September or so.

R Mutt - I remember seeing them play a couple times at off-campus parties.

Amen.   Just a great, great party down at the domes.

I remember a long wait for the shuttle bus resulting in a walk over the viaduct towards the domes, but I have no recollection of the return home.  While at the domes I do remember being shocked at seeing some guy who looked like an Indian fall over drunk into a dying campfire and assuming he had to be very hurt.

Wales was awesome, not quite as good as Rick's on Wells, but not bad.

When I was at MU - Jiggles was down at the gun club on the lake.  I think that might have been one of the final years it existed in its original format.

My recollection is that it usually was at the lakefront at the old gun club.  But moved to the domes only for '88.  I know it was back at the lakefront in '89, but because they were expecting bad weather, they moved the music to the Eagles Club.  We all went to the lakefront anyway.

For those who don't know, the Milwaukee Gun Club used to lease county ground right on the lakefront.  I remember setting up our keg on top of a bunch of busted up clay pigeons.

Your man-boobs are known as Mr. Jiggles to the hygenists, so I can see why you went there.

Jiggles was epic. I remember it being at the domes, the year after I graduated it was at the gunclub, I think that was 1990. Anybody remember the Jimi Hendrix wanabe. That guy cracked me up. Those were some fun parties.

Hey, sorry I am so late to the party here.

Jigglesfest lives on (kind of.)    In 2008 I worked with Linda from Surrender Dorothy to bring back some old bands and mix in some new bands and kick it back off.   If you are a facebooker, the jigglesfest page has a pretty good collection of old pictures from the 88-92 original run of Jigglesfest (including 2 years at the domes, 2 years at the Gun Club and the final rained out 1992 year that had it relocate to the eagles ball room)

Here is and article that came out when we first got it back together.

http://www.onmilwaukee.com/music/articles/jigglesfest.html

From 2008 until now (meaning this weekend) we have been getting back together as many of the old bands and any new MU bands we can find to play as part of the Bradford Beach Endless Summer Party.  The first year we were able to do it with all MU or previously MU bands.   Through the years it has been harder and harder to get enough MU bands so we have backfilled with Milwaukee and Chicago bands that have prior connections to MU or MU bands.

Our dreams of returning to the domes were crushed pretty early by the county parks team, but they were also the people who put us in touch with the team at the beach.

So, that is it.   This Saturday, Sept 14th 2013, Bradford Beach from 12-9:00pm

12:00PM Paul & Dave Project
1:05 PM Those Kickstarts
2:10 PM Lack of Reason
3:20 PM The Gyps
4:30 PM Dirty Knots
5:40 PM StereoActive
6:50 PM Moses' Gunn
8:00 PM R. Mutt

R. Mutt & Surrender Dorothy live on.  Wow!

Jigglesfest is supposed to take place the end of May as an end-of-year blow-out before finals week, although I know the weather will be much better in late September.

It's a fun time.  I've tried to go most years since Jim and R. Mutt have re-birthed it at Bradford Beach.
Nice to get one last Saturday at the beach before Lake Michigan ices over.

R. Mutt is a lot better than you remember (if you haven't seen them since the 90's).  They've lost some hair, and became better musicians.

I seem to recall last seeing them playing in the backyard at a house party on Kilborn sometime in the 1990/1991 school year.  Unless I'm confusing them with Surrender Dorothy.

When we hooked up with the county guy who runs the beach he offered us either May or September, but warned May could stink...   We have been incredibly lucky with September weather.
